I want to learn how to ski 'free heel' as you put it. When I grow up, maybe...

Yeah living 7 minutes to the mountain and not having much work in the winter sorta opens it up for me without being a hassle. It actually is enjoyable to some extent because I get social interaction and out of the house a few hours a week guaranteed

My last ski trip was January to SugarBush for a week

I've got a set of Nordica boots that have 5 days on them. They replaced my Lange Pink Panthers complete with duct tape on the toes. I have a set of Rossi slalom racers in the basement 203's complete with Marker 747's

One thing I don't have is a melon bucket. No one wore them back then.

My mom put me in one at that time! I was like 7 when she decided I needed a helmet so a few years before. Bright af and rainbow print. What a dream for a little boy o_O

But I refused to turn. I’d go to the top, point the skis down and tuck. She was convinced I was going to Kill myself

I took lessons probably 6 years ago at Sunday river. It was great. And it's pretty fun and a good way to change it up. A lot of times i'll ski mornings on these and afternoons on my regular alpine skis.

Ski ward can't be too far away from you, it's only ~15 minutes from me.

I will say helmets have come a long way. My hometown had a "mountain", mount Southington and they'd have demo days and such. I think I demo'd one in middle school circa '97 or '98 and it was terrible. Hated it. About 4 years ago when we got our daughter on skis we obviously got her one. Tried them on and they are so much nicer than I recalled. Finally broke down and got one 3 years ago and I don't think I'd go back to not wearing one. They are comfy and warm. I don't think I've worn anything on my head for warmth besides the helmet since. I used to think they were gay/lame/for pussies/ uncomfortable/ etcc.. but even my $70 Ski Expo 2 years ago model special is pretty damn nice. And i've taken a few falls wacking my dome on the lovely ice we call snow here out East and i'm glad i had it on. I'm getting too old to be bouncing my brain around so much.

It's so small, but great for learning. Our giblets do lessons there on Saturdays. Only crappy thing is there regular skiing is kind of expensive, I'd rather make the haul out to Berkshire East where my 6 year old is still free and adult lift tickets are essentially the same price for like 10x more terrain. But Ward is just so convenient.

I’m great at the skiing thing, well maybe not great but maybe fast is a better word, it’s the stoping that was always the problem.

Who cares what colour they are if they work, same reason I have purple headphones for work..and it was by design but you should see the colours of my bike collection..

    Ohhhhh yeeeeeahhhh

plywood top not yet purchased. That’s going to be a fun one to make. Not sure if I’ll do it in sections or maybe have hinges if I want to get access to the under bits. Or if I’m going to just secure it and leave access from the sides like this.

Making a move today, going to pick up a 9kW generator for the house. If anyone’s interested in a 4kW propane generator, low hours and kept in the garage, let me know. I’ll be selling that one off. 4kW was fine when we bought it, but now with kids, there’s more i’d want to keep running if we lose power for a while. It’ll likely end up being my garage power more than anything...

Harbor Freight predator generator. We have a few of them kicking around the job site, they’ve been pretty reliable and those ones see a lot more abuse than mine would. I know, they’re cheap but tough to justify Honda, Generac, Kohler or Yamaha when the price difference is that large.

don't need to talk me into it, I'm a proud Predator owner! Get the warranty, then in two years swap it out for a new one! They take it back no questions and you walk out with the new one same time.

I have a new 4.5 we got to finish building the MIL house after the 3kw one started struggling (after 5 years and two buildings built on it with no servicing).

Those Chonda motors are top knotch :thumbsup:

I was looking at repowering my snowblower with one of those predator motors. Not because I need to, but because I can't leave well enough alone. They have good reviews online, seems they are a straight ripoff of Honda OHV engines.

Jeeze, it took me a long time to get caught up...

That's a big yikes... I don't think my techs would be able to tell you anything different either..
Always side with the super duty option. :notsure:
I mean guns require licenses too sometimes, but you don't see me running around with one

That's gonna be an awesome trip! And I love the name.
    That sounds delicious!
I bought my mom some Ford ones for her F150. They're dark gray metallic instead of chrome. They look WAY better.
I've warrantied SO MANY chrome steps for bubbling/peeling it isn't funny. :angrygirl:
That is the trip of a lifetime! I'd start from the tip of Baja personally :notsure:
Wait, they have special boots for that? Have I been doing it wrong this whole time?

Those look just like the OEM ones on my truck. I like them.

I figure they help prevent door dings because most vehicles are lower. I can probably replace both steps for less than it would cost to do dent and paint repairs on the body.
