I do long distance rallies, think Iron Butt Rally, but I do the shorter 32 hour variants. My Sena has been used in more rain in one season than many riders will ride in during 10 seasons without failure. My SMH-10 survived Hurricane Matthew a few years back when I had no choice but to keep riding and covered about 400+ miles in a torrential downpour.

Unless youre putting the sena in a bucket of water i dont forsee any issues. I had my smh10 in complete downpours without any consequences

I suppose thats another issue, i cant charge and use the motion infinity. I dont have the long rides you do though to worry about it

For me that's a must have feature. I have a battery tender pigtail with a long enough reach to plug in to a pass through into my tankbag where it splits into 2 lighter sockets. I can then plug my headset in and charge while riding and still use the Sena. My g/f has a Powerlet port down close to her left footpeg and a lead she can plug in to charge hers at the same time without having cords crossed. She has her IBA number as well having completed some pretty long rides with me and doing rallies as well.

I had a Rick's stator along with mosfet R/R and both worked well without issue.

Sooooo.....took the girl out for a test ride literally around the 'hood. Rides nice, bars give it a completely different feel, I like!

Got the throttle adjusted to my liking. However the clutch/friction zone I don't like. I tried adjusting the cable like @BkerChuck said. It ain't working for me. Friction zone right now is damn near completely out, I would like it tighter in toward the grip. Make sense?? So is this directly related to the clutch cable? Google seems to give me some other responses for the friction zone, meaning adjusting the adjustment screw behind the derby cover. Y'all know the one. So which is it?? Thanks fellas!

make sure the bit under the derby cover is set correctly, then set free play at the clutch lever perch. you can add a bit more free play at the perch to bring the friction zone in a bit.

So I think I got the clutch/friction zone squared away....but CURSE T27 torx screws on the damn primary cover!!! Wtf Harley?!? :censored::censored:

Yeah, I minced that thing up well! Trip to the hardware store for some Allen head replacements. :annoyed:

I thought it was me, but upon googling, it’s a thing. :ballchain:

Thanks again @TMCmakes for the input!

Problem with those is everybody over torques them and then after a few heat cycles they seem to get tighter. I've drilled out one or 2 myself.

Funny thing is if you google the torque specs, you get an infinite amount of answers!! :annoyed: They run the gamut, ft lbs, in lbs...:ballchain:

For some reason, Sena didn't make the SRL-II built for the NeoTec II helmet work while charging, so this isn't an option in my setup. In fact, had I known how poorly this was gonna perform, I wouldn't have bought it. Instead I'm working on converting my bike and helmet setup to wired; then I don't have to worry about charging.

Perfect day for a scoot, 70 degrees and sunny. Put in 50 miles and I finally passed 600 miles so it’s time for the first oil change. It takes a whole quart of oil

Nice someone else in here from Pullman! A few days this week are supposed to be in the 50's, I'll take it!

I spent the weekend in Leavenworth with my family and I'm now on 2.5 weeks without a scoot. Fingers crossed tuesday I'll ride into work, I'm work from home tomorrow.

Man, I don't feel like a job is complete on bike or auto until I've done that! Bled my brakes on the bike the other evening and, upon unscrewing the MC cap, one of the screw heads almost completely rounded out AND one of the bleeder valves won't stop weeping.

Ordered an impact screwdriver for the screw (any excuse for new tools, right?) but not sure how hard I should smack it because I really don't want to mess up the cylinder itself.

Having never had this issue before, I'm guessing to replace the bleeder, I just pull the old and put in the new as quick as possible? Any tips or cheat codes are welcome!

Do you happen to own a set of JIS screwdrivers? Major reason so many Japanese bikes have those screws chewed up is because of folks using Phillips screwdrivers on what are actually JIS screws. I bought a set of 3 JIS screwdrivers a few years ago and they are now my "go to" screwdrivers on damned near everything. Look up JIS screw or JIS screwdriver and read up on them and why the use of a Phillips head damages the screws. Surprisingly I asked our Snap On tool truck operator around here and Snap On doesn't even offer JIS screwdrivers. Told me he'd never even heard of them.

Again, I always wonder why so many damn heads! Flat, phillips, torx, hex, taylor, JIS, etc etc. :annoyed:
