Does anyone want to wheel this weekend? Or meet up for a beer or something? I was thinking about heading down towards the tintic tunnel or something on Saturday. Might end up camping, not sure yet.

I need to fix a ball joint on Saturday, but I could be up to something later in the day depending on progress.

Worst case, we could have a small toyota shindig in my backyard firepit. Snow on Saturday might upset things a little bit.

I’ll help with the ball joint if you’ll let me tape up my truck and spray my front bumper with some bed liner while I’m over there. Lol

I’m still mid to end of April before I can take the rig out.

I'm down for a day trip one of these weekends. Been too long since my truck has seen dirt.

Im just gonna have Big O do it while I have them rotate my tires for free. But youre welcome to come over and do that anyways.

My camburg arms are kinda funky and I dont think my bj press is big enough...or Im an idiot and cant figure out how to get all the stuff in the same 6 inches

Shit, I used to swap balljoints in my camburg arms every other oil change... you should be able to just press them out with nothing other than the arm in the press. You don’t need but maybe 4-6” of space. But I’d have to look at them in the press to really know.

Although I may take you up on that still. Either that or I’ll park it off on that road behind the complex and do it. But my Shitty southeastern paint job is NOT holding up to Utah salt and whatever clay shit I ended up wheeling in last weekend. What do y’all paint bumpers with?

Well since it sounds like you actually know what you're doing on this, come on over and teach me something. :D

All my stuff is powdercoated, but steel-it or the spray-on rustoleum bedliner seems to be popular around here.

Shoot me a PM if you want to talk; it's a cool place to live but expensive with limited opportunities and resources. If you wheel/ride/climb every weekend now the opportunities are probably worth it, but if you don't then proximity isn't going to change your habits.

Was planning on taking my kids down that tunnel sometime Sat early afternoon.

Any other shorter trips down that way that could complete a full day of finally having the truck not on pavement?

You can take all the offroad trails from the tunnel area up to five mile. You'll wanna do something since the tunnel takes all of 15 mins pavement to pavement

Would like to make a half day out of it. Its a solid 90m drive (per the Googles) from Ogden, so if it's a fun 15m then would deff like to venture off somewhere else. Mildly experienced off-roading but most of that was mud-boggin down south.

No, not fat. In fact I have never been to Moab it just perked my interest with all the parks, hills and monuments. Just looks like an awesome place. I guess I will just settle for a visit now and then. Thanks

There are lots of places to off-road out there, but it’s probably going to be muddy.

Ain’t nut’n wrong with that setup.

Well with a fair bit of help from @Kerleyfries, the taco is back in action with a fresh ball joint. Def was worse than I thought, as braking flutter in the steering wheel I thought was a warped rotor seems to maybe have been the ball joint from a short drive around the block.

Zack is good people and he'll fit in great with our Utah toyota crowd.
