@Abeyancer as always the worst part was getting off my ass and starting. Verified what you said about running neutral to a ground rod and set off

Idk about the exploding part but I think it's a clutch style that uses different gears than the open carrier. Don't remember too much otoh

Did some research seems hit or miss for the exploding part but an elocker like Screenshot_20210227-122949.jpg

That replaces the whole carrier would be fine wouldn't it?

Though I think the bare copper wire needs to be neutral and the separate ground bar to ground rod is now ground

@Wulf That's fair, good to get the other stuff out of the way.. I know you don't have a permit so you're not really worried about code but it might be smart to wrap that white wire with some red elec tape to notify anyone in the future it's a 110v feed

You don't want to use a bare wire for a neutral application cause it'll still carry current in a 110v application

Got it, leave it as ground and run the neutral to the ground rod

Yep, that's the way that makes sure you don't accidentally start a fire. Technically it's not "up to code" but engineeringly (so long as the tip of the ground rod is 6ft into the actual soil) it's safe.

I noticed you wrote H for hot and N for neutral. L for LINE is more accepted, but also it doesn't matter

The squeek on the frontier was just the hood

I tightened the hoods bumpstops and it went away

    Peace at last
