bilstein shocks

both my rear bilstein 5100s are blown out leaking fluid. any one have this issue?

Did you try contacting the place your purchased the 5100's from as they may have a warranty?

 

Yes, I bought new ones when it happened

 

Are you lifted? Shocks could be overextending

 

He provided zero information so anything could have happened. He could have put them on a long travel truck and jumped it for all we know

 

1" in rear

 

No lift. Had one leak (bad) with only 10K miles, which caused me to fail annual Maine inspection. Place I bought them from asked that I send it back... seriously? So I threw on a cheapo to pass inspection. Was told the leaking was "normal" and they wouldn't warranty it. Contacted Bilstein directly and got the same response.

Installed OME Sport Nitrochargers on rear. Noticeably better. Will never buy a Bilstein product again.

i dont off road it at all. bought kit from headstrong a couple years ago and must have misplaced my receipt.

 

Shocks leak, new and old. Cold weather typically accelerates failures.

 

Bilstein 5100 and other non rebuild shocks and throw aways. Sooooooooooooooooo

Front stock height?

Find it hard to believe all 4 shit the bed unless the mileage or abuse took its toll

 

leveled up front. front shocks are fine.

 

Wait till you break those Nitrochargers off on the top stud... What will you buy then?

 

3 years old and still going strong. I'll cross that bridge if I ever come to it.

 

doesn't hurt to plan in advance.. especially if you cross lots of rocks and boulders.
