Let me know if you still need this work done. I know some really good finishers.
I’m usually too busy for side work myself. You get what you pay for in the drywall world. It’s like wanting icon suspension, but pay for rough country.

It has been the last 2 days, but at least it is keeping the snow frozen. We lost a lot of snow off the runs already.

At Diamond Peak looking at my advanced bookings for ski school, its going to be busy every weekend the rest of the season. Sundays are defiantly a lot lighter than Saturday.

I might get our kids in a lesson one Sunday...maybe an afternoon. Our son is dying to see more of the mountain but we are stuck on schoolhouse with our 4yr old daughter.

They had 4 days last season before everything shut down and we've taken them 4 or 5 times this season.

Daughter can ski off the Lodgepole chair with an edgie wedgie but she just turned 4 last month and doesn't have the leg strength/coordination to keep it under control otherwise and I refuse to use a leash/harness on them.

they'll get there. Agree with not doing the leash thing. One, I think they could be potentially dangerous, and I just think they're weird. I got a late start skiing (6th grade) but picked up on it quick and my folks got the "your son has a need for speed" talk.

I agree also any time you are teaching a small child try not to use a crutch, it creates bad habits. My instructors only use wedies with the very small and very young. We only use them for part of the lessons.

i miss that view. Interesting thoughts on kids/leashes. we have one, but haven't used it yet, just have had him with the edgie wedgie. figure i'll use it at the very least as a handle (sans leash) to get him on the chair lift. any tips on teaching a toddler how to turn/stop?

It's a beautiful view. Looking at it again today. As far as tips go, I'll have to defer to a parent who's put their kid through learning. I was put in a class later than most kids (6th grade) and basically pointed the skis downhill and then learned how to control speed and an edge in corners. Mostly self taught after that. There are different ways to turn and i feel you graduate to certain methods as you improve. I'm sure an instructor could explain it much better

How old is the kid? You have to remember that the real little ones don't have the leg strength/coordination and by toddler I assume they are just getting used to walking so getting them to turn or stop on skis is a big ask.

My issue with the harness is it pulls them into the backseat and that's going to make it difficult to turn and it's a tough habit to break.

When I was teaching kids (almost 10 years ago and a whole lot of chemo so it's all a bit fuzzy) I started kids with pointing the skis where they wanted to go and applying pressure on the outside ski. There are things they can do with their arms to help remember which ski to push on (start with arms out like an airplane and when turning left drop the right arm and tap that leg with it for example). It really depends on the kid though because that can be too much info for the real little ones. I never had much luck getting the real young ones to angulate and get up on the edge of the skis to turn.
