Just took a close look at those rear dampeners.. pretty much entry level disposable stuff. Doesn't seem to be well matched for the rest of your rear suspension.

 

i have the close to the same set up in the rear (I’m on the 9.6 inch travel fox 2.0), everything else is the same. Mine lasted 55k miles on some serious wheeling and desert running. Just started leaking driver side this month. And not from bottoming out, it’s leaking from the hose next to the cd adjuster. I have about an inch of shock travel that’s never been used because of the superbumps and flip kit. I liked this set up personally.

 

howd you get the ifp out? compressed air into where the hydraulic fitting goes? theres no 1/4-20 threads on the nitrogen fill side that i was expecting to see.. just a plastic honeycomb looking shitty plastic ifp haha

 

just to save you from some potential damage.. I personally placed the piggyback reservoir on the other side of the shock body... at full compression you may smash your axle into the piggyback resi where its currently mounted!

 

Do you by chance know the IFP depth for these coilovers?

 

i feel like im always spending money

if im adding a bumper and winch will the coils that come with the 2.5s sag alot? i really dont feel like buying new coils..

You are right in the middle since the standard spring comes with a 13" x 600lb spring. A 14" x 600 spring may be something you want to look into in the near future. What year truck?

Got it, I would run it as is, adjust preload a bit if needed.

 

I've adjusted preload several times and didn't gain much. It's weird. I know preload != lift but about an inch of more preload has barely given 1/4" and I've got a hell of a rake. But looks like a 14" spring is in the works. I'm looking at Eibach. How much would you expect for a shop to do the swap?

Fox 880-02-418 regarding pre load not sure if anyone can clarify.

I just picked up a set for my truck and noticed there was only about 1 and 1/2 inches of pre load. I contacted Fox and they told me I should only add another 1/2 inch of pre load. I have read that some of you guys are putting 2.9 inches of pre load on your shocks which is way more then Fox recommended me to do.
Does anyone have a proper measurement for what is safe as well as getting the most lift out of the shocks.

Invest in a good set of spring compressors for about $60 and do it yourself. I just reassembled mine last weekend after a rebuild to install on my new truck. If you can remove them yourself (which also is not hard) you can do it...safely.

Edit: I recommend these or similar. They are very sturdy and get the job done with ease. I never felt unsafe using them.

So you cranked down the preload nut 1" further than where it was originally and only got 1/4" lift? Something is definitely wrong there.

 

Roughly, yes. I got increased lift while the truck was raised and after I lowered it, but once it settled after a quick test drive a lot of that lift was gone. It was maybe 37 3/4" ground to fender before settling and around 36 1/2" after. Visually, it looks like no change though I did measure and got roughly 1/4" more. I think I only have a few more threads to expose before I hit 2" of preload.

Sorry, misspoke. 2" of exposed threads, which I believe is the limit Fox recommends.
