To clarify, it prevents your diff acting like a vacuum and pulling in water through the clamshell when you're in high water for any amount of time other than "just passing through a deep puddle for a second"

Part of the mod is also replacing the breather from a one way to a two way. The one way breather means that it would push out hot air from the diff while the water is cooling the clam shell, creating an environment in which water intrusion is HIGHLY LIKELY because it's under negative pressure. The two way breather means it actually has a chance to expel hot air while letting in cool air to adjust the environment without vacuum. That's also why you're adding the long hose, because you go from something that shouldn't allow water to enter to something that definitely would allow it, if you didn't have it sealed and rerouted.

Was walking through Ross tonight with my wife and saw a bunch of these for $7.99. Hard to beat for a little truck/campground shovel. Now I just have to figure out where I'm going to put it.

Full clay & wax detail of the truck today. Been neglecting it since March of last year lol. She was F-ing dirty...

    Screenshot_20210227-174758_Gallery.jpg

Also I'm not the kind of guy to detail the bed of the truck but I gave it a shot and I'm happy I did. Pressure washed it and applied Scotch guard/UV protectant.

Looks awesome! After I put the T4R TRD wheels I noticed everyone else has them too lol. Should have done something more original...

Are those WeatherTech deflectors on your side windows? Do you notice reduced wind noise from them while the windows are rolled up? I'm trying to reduce wind noise on my truck.

    This and that...
Thanks! Hard be original with wheels these days and get something that looks good.

I’ve had those deflectors since I bought it so not sure of the brand. They do work great with weather outside and possibly a tad quieter than without. Will replace if anything happens with these.

To complete the full detail on my ‘08 Tacoma I cleaned all the glass. Someone on one of my forums said that CarPro Clarify is the best glass cleaner out there and after using it I agree 100%.

Hey, does anyone know about the fender flares I sometimes see with exposed screws to hold them on? Are they after-market?
