Hey everyone, I am very humbly posting to see if anyone in the Sacramento area (or elsewhere willing to drive) would be up for helping me install a Bilstein 5100 / OME 884 lift, Deaver single AAL, and the ol ECGS bushing. (I’m purchasing the ECGS bushing soon, was waiting to post this to see if I needed the tool as well or if someone coming might have one)

I am terrible with anything when it comes to working on vehicles, and have been looking at shops to do my install. I sadly have almost no tools to get this stuff done myself. I’ve had a few people recommend I make a thread and see if the great people of TW would come through to help a brotha out.

I’ll be up front - I can hand y’all tools, work on simple things like unbolting or moving and holding stuff, but I would have no idea how to handle hammering or hitting my suspension components like I’ve seen in multiple lift / ECGS install videos. So I’d say if you’re up for helping, I think I’d be leaving it almost all in your hands.

I can offer lots of ice cold beer, a few big pizzas, and even some good convo along the way.

I have a 2 car garage I can park in the middle of to work in but unfortunately my house has a shared driveway so the driveway isn’t an option. Or if someone who has more room wants to turn this into a Mod Day or host this, that would be great too.

I know it’s a lot to ask but I figured I’d at least make this thread and see if I could save some $ as well as get to meet whoever shows up.

Thanks for reading if ya did, no date as of yet but the lift kit is in hand and I’m hoping to do this within the next 2-3 weeks.

I’d be down to help if you were closer. Sac is a bit far from Fresno. Good luck getting everything on!

I was in contact with them as well for install. Like I said I’ve been shopping around and thought for sure a shop was my only option but 2 other TWers in another thread encouraged me to just post and ask, so I did :)

Man, I'd do it just for a fun mod day.

Minus the bushing, never done that before.

Helped a few members install their leaf pack, did my own Tacoma and 4Runner as well; build in my sig.

Funny thing is all the tools needed live in my truck.

Not enough to have a build thread.
Are the springs already on the 5100s?

I’d be down to host if you wanted to come to the bay. All kinds of tools and a full fridge in my garage. The bad part would be driving back home on a bad alignment because you’ll still need that after all the parts are thrown on

The springs are assembled on the struts, yes

I’ll keep that in mind for sure, and thank you. I’m hoping someone who knows how to do the ECGS bushing will come by

Will keep this in mind for sure. I haven’t looked at the pricing on the tool yet but I’m sure it’s cheaper than paying for a lift install

There's a couple threads floating around that have ecgs tools out for loan. Seen a few in Cali. Search "ecgs tool".

    The usual
What day are you aiming for the install day? I can come by and help with the pizza and beer

I can bring some tools, 4 feet long pry bar always helps things. ECGS seems like a taco thing, so you have to take out the shaft from your TC, sounds messy. I'm assuming you're draining the diff and TC case before?

If this turns out to be a mod party OP, during the week (Tue or Wed), tag me.

I'd love to see if I can make it out just to wrench and bullshit.

Like I said, I carry everything in my truck including an impact tool even.

From the video I’ve seen no drain needed, a little bit may leak out but no big or just add a tiny bit to match what came out

Haven’t decided on a day yet.. if no one able to do the ECGS bushing comes around I may need to see if a shop around me is confident enough to do it, or talk to my local stealership and see if they’re familiar. I think I read most are.
