IKD either, but it was meant in good humor, and I laughed typing it.
A good day to you too, sir. :)

Back in my youth a friend bought a 66 V8 Mustang, it came with a teardrop shaped scoop molded in the hood (fiberglass and Bondo). The seller also gave him a stock flat hood, my friend wondered why. The first rainy fall day he found out -- the opening on the scoop faced the windshield, the heat from the engine on a cold rainy day fogged the windshield continuously. He put the flat hood on for the winter.

Edit: Fiberglass and Bondo pretty much describes the entire car, but it was a running and driving V8 Mustang for $500.

And just like that, in 2009 the two-scoop hood was once again all the rage:

Lumina z34 had the best hood "scoop". They were more like vents, but they were open so they actually could do something. I put one on my chevette.

    Why?

I hope you did the safe thing and pulled over and called someone who was more capable of handling the extra HP from the scoop

    pillows?

Real question, how much visibility does the scewp take away versus the off road? On some insane trails I can see it not helping, but if you are doing something of that level, you got the wrong equipment anyways. Just like the sport handles better on the road, some think it’s the different suspension, but those in the know, know it’s the SCOOP!!!!

It looks good. The non-scoop hood on the Tacoma looks super bland - like, it's one of the flattest, most boring hoods I've ever seen.

You can prefer whichever you want, but there's a reason why in the hood swap thread, it's like 100:1 people without scoops trying to get one vs the opposite.

I can't tell if I make the scoop look sexy or the scoop makes me.

It is literally the most bland hood without it. It’s just totally flat and has no curves or anything compared to comparable vehicles

F854914F-9A6E-43AF-8B30-5F710F999FCC.jpg I also love the skewp for inclines. All you see is blue skies! As a added side bonus to the skewp, my wife won’t drive it. She said she can’t see over the hood scoop. She’s 5’ 5”.

It helps catch leaves so they don’t stick on the trail and make it slick.

Mine also was several $1000’s less than a offroad and about $25 more than a SR5. All the little extras for $25 was worth it to me. It was on the lot a long time and I was lucky they had more Sports in stock. (I mean just look at that sweet bright chrome grill below)

The regular hood is so plain. The scoop really breaks up that space. My old jeep liberty had a cooler looking hood than my taco
