Why do you like the SPORT hood?

    This could just as easily be titled "why don't you like the SPORT hood?". Personal preference, I absolutely love my completely non-functional hood scoop.

    Hmm... A fiberglass replacement hood. No thanks.

    But, I can see how they made it (nominally) functional. It's a simple duct to push air over to the intake, with no direct tie-in to the intake.

    Why couldn't someone produce the duct alone, as an add-on to a regular scooped hood? We could then at least say that we made our hoods functional.

    What would the point of that be anyway? It's not like the 3.5 engine requires or even would benefit from this kind of ram air intake. All that volume would be lost in the filter and or throttle body. No point really, unless you're using this system with a super charger, really making these "functional" is just as dumb as the argument that since they are not, they are somehow less desirable.... just silly all this, "I wish I had a sport hood and need to justify my OR purchase online since I never actually get to use my CC feature in the mall parking lot" gimmeabreak

    They do. Well, they did. I’ve seen it. Thought that was the place. They sold them on eBay for awhile at $399 maybe it was more profitable to make the entire hood. (Maybe because some installed it incorrectly/liability)

    More so just tired of these threads every other day and the OR "holier than thau" crowd with these threads that insinuate that the sport is somehow inferior built right into the thread question.

    Fair enough, I was mostly just joking. But to be fair there's basically equal attempts to look down the nose at the peasants with the other hood from both sides.

    I couldn’t care less about the capabilities of the OR in relation to a sport. I don’t off road. If I did off-road and that was important to me I prob would have gotten an OR. And if I liked a hood scoop that much would have just bought a new hood and put it on
