    Hey guys,
I've been dealing with some evap system codes for about a year now, can't figure out the problem. P043E,P043F, P0453, P2401, P2402, P2419. I've searched all of the internet with no luck, no definite answers anyways.
Finally bit the bullet and took it to the stealership. The service tech said the charcoal canister needed to be replaced, that it was saturated with gas. Kinda felt like he was full of crap because I had already taken the canister off and it looked ok to me. I didn't notice any gas saturation. And I'm 99% sure he didn't remove it.... So, I bought one from rock auto, genuine Toyota, made in japan, etc. Installed it, cleared the codes, and a few days later they all came back.... Pretty pissed honestly. I figured the dealership could pinpoint the issue.
Anyways, seeing as how I like to fiddle around with things, I thought I'd try to figure it out myself with "techstream". I did the responsible thing and got the bootleg version from Amazon... Lol. Has anyone tried this, or anything similar? Any luck? Any problems? I plan to only use the cable and get the software from a more trusted source, but I'm not a rich man, so I won't be getting the real deal anytime soon.

The canister came as an assembly. It included a new pump. I'm pretty much just asking about the software and cable at this point.

I have been using the older version 10 I think bootleg software since I got my truck in 2012. No issues with it at all. I am using it on a dedicated laptop running Windows XP, not connected to the network. Also I have the same connector cable it appears.

I ordered a kit from Amazon , I don’t know if it was the exact one you got but I ended up using a older version of the software (I think version 10) that worked good for setting my tpms sensor codes. I bought a cheap old laptop off eBay for $75 also and put windows xp on it

(if you want more exact version numbers or the exact files let me know)

Thanks guys. I saw a video on youtube where the guy was using techstream to activate the individual parts in the system. I've been leaning towards the leak detect pump being the issue, but seeing that it has a 7 pin connector, I don't know how I would be able to test it's functionality. Can't find a wiring diagram to know which pin to connect power to. I just figured I could test it with techstream to help narrow down the issue. Or maybe "trick" the ecu into passing the test somehow.... But that'd be a last resort. It's really frustrating to not be able to drive it legally because of this crap...

You would need the drivers for that adaptor once u have techstream installed in the top right this is a option and u have to choose your obd2 port scanner I don’t have it in front of me but it’s in one of the menus
