Or perhaps people always recommend against a spacer lift because there is no gain in performance. 2” of lift on stock suspension does nothing for your truck. Unless you just roll around town wanting to look cool in your lifted truck with big tires, then you have succeeded with your spacer lift.

Otherwise, a spacer lift on mostly questionable hardware gives 2” of lift on stock suspension with no gains in travel or performance. The minute you go off road, whether it’s desert go fast or rock crawling, you’ll see why everyone says get a proper lift, because even the most basic proper lift will give you increased strength and durability while also getting an increase in performance, more travel etc.

However you are correct 90+% of the people on here don’t really use their truck beyond the occasion fire road camping trip and don’t really understand their truck and how to do their own work on them and do mods that look cool while adding no real function. Like spacer lifts, $1000 headlights... or faux TRD pro grills with raptor lights.

    Never enough
Towed with it for the first time. Took my buddys 91 Corolla GTS a few hours north so we can drop a new motor in it. Truck did great! Super impressed considering all the extra weight from armor.

did the cowl snorkel yesterday and drained/filled coolant. Now I have room under the hood for a compressor!

I agree with this. It is better to do it once and do it correctly. Now if you're talking for pure aesthetic it is possible to go with something inexpensive that looks nice such as the grill but I dont care for the raptor lights or the fact that someone would spend $1000 on headlights unless they were gold but then someones gonna come and steal them too. With all that being said at the end of the day its their truck and we can do what we want, not justifying spending all that money on those aesthetics but to each their own. Cant judge just like if someone was to judge your rig (which is nice btw) and say its not for them.

Now for this comment where you changed your view of others opinions is oxymoron because they are allowed to have their opinion based on their findings and research. For me buying parts does not come easy because of all the research I do on them. I like to have good parts for a better investment. These trucks run from 30-45k+ depending on options and where you're located, year and everything else. A spacer lift is an insult I feel because it wont allow the stock suspension to perform as it was designed. Sure it may ride better but you can get a better feel and look if you do it properly in my opnion. Plus you aren't potentially ruining your truck with a spacer lift. Again everything on TW is opinion based with a few exceptions we are all here for the love of yotas and to help each other out with questions based on our experience and opinions. Dont want opinionated answers? Well there's only so many places you can go for those and I can almost guarantee 90% of those non-opinionated answers are not online.

We've had temps in the mid-40s for about a week, the streets have cleared of snow pack, ice, slush, brine.....

Went to the DIY car wash with the hand held pressure sprayer to rinse the body and take off some of the winter grime.

Holy CRAP!! 9 quarters for 8 minutes..............

Next weekend has the possibility of a full hand wash with predicted temps in the high 50s.

Same here in Chiberia. Going through our heatwave, I didnt have the hose hooked up otherwise i wouldve done the DIY route but I took her in for a hand bath which was much worth it. Going to get it fully detailed now that shes 6 and hasnt had one yet and has kept me safe all these years and on all these trips.

    This and that...
Done a couple of hand washes in 40 degrees here in CO for the same reasons. Just fill that bucket inside and its like a hot tub for your hands.

Took my fender flares off :) the eventual plan is bushwhacker flares but I think it looks decent for now.

Looks so good (it’s almost a completely different truck)! I’ve had a couple of people come up so far to tell me how awesome it looks. Fuel mileage maybe took a slight hit, but totally worth it in the 6 speed manual.

I personally love the flareless look. Plus my 295s don’t rub this way

Also... finished a custom sub box yesterday for my access cab. Running a 10” RF Prime R2. Seats/seatbelts are still fully functional and it adds a great custom look. I might post the CAD plans over in the audio forum. 7987F14B-64F3-4E08-80A0-4704F55DD5D7.jpg1F57642A-6A93-4361-8A0E-9E89A35C5E5E.jpg

I added extended studs and 1/2” slip on bora spacers today to keep my tire off of the rear shocks.

I was having some slight rub on my flare still when turning hard up a curb or rock. Hopefully that should take care of it.
