If its anything like my 44 inch it'll take 2 months! Hopefully being a bigger box it wont take as long.

Did you have to match other boxes with the color?

i think I only waited 2 weeks for the bottom cabinet, hopefully this is the same. 2 months would suck!

That’s for sure. Looked at the weight, around 340 lbs for the top compared to 530 for the bottom!

just ordered the same blue color. If their QA is half decent it should match up.

I made two trips to HF this weekend intending to get the top and bottom 44”. My current boxes are top and bottom 25 year old, 24” Craftsmans. I’m thinking double the size, double the fun....

Saturday I got a blue 56” bottom and Sunday the blue 56” top. (The blue looks pretty close to Ford blue and received spousal approval :D)

The Sup said they should be there in 4 weeks or so...

Anyone take off the size 200 font US General sticker from inside the top lid? Any tips?

I did some cutting and grinding this weekend. I did not use gloves - figured I'd give it a try.

I seemed to have a little better control of the grinder, but did not like all the crap hitting my hand(s). I was using the guard, and making sure the spark stream was away from my hand, but there was still some that made it to my hand. No burns or anything.

And, I had to wait for stuff to cool down - only touched a hot part once...

I can see why the recommendation is to not wear gloves - but it will take some more getting used to.

The bottom line is a 1/2" drill motor will break a wrist. I've wrapped up a few "T" shirts, cut a grinder electric cord in half inside a race car and made some permaholes in my leg, but never got a glove caught. Practice and common sense on safety will help keep ya safe, but experience matters.

Can you imagine cutting a 110v cord, inside a completely steel race car, surrounded by a jungle gym of 1.625 CM tube...lmao. It was a electrifying experience. Looked like this one I built a year ago.
On a equipment note, this Sears grinder bought in 2004, has built at least 13 caged cars with hundreds of cope's and beveling for each car. Bushing is about to go but it's a great tool.

I currently have 2 of the blue harbor freight 4 inch grinder with the paddle switches one with a flap style grinding wheel and other has a cut off wheel , I ran no guards for years but a few close calls and I general run a guard now unless it gets in the way of a cut , then I put it back after .

Grinders are definitely not as good ass they used to be especially the 4 inch ones I had a makita for ever like 10 years and it finely died I bought basically the same one a it didn’t last a year , so bought the harbor freight ones and for the price I have no complaints . I think I’m going to get the Hercules brand at HF next go around , can anyone give a testimonial on one ?

Liking the PPE talk in here.. often overlooked. I’m a guard kind of guy myself, as mentioned already.. if it’s in the way I’ll remove it but so far it’s a fairly rare need.
