Since I have multiple dogs the leash idea does not work. I know its not cheap but this would work to keep the dog in the back. I have one on my 4Runner and it works great with one of mine that is determined to get to the front seat whenever we are out of the 4Runner. I am getting one for the Tacoma once it is built and arrives. The photo is a stock photo to show.

Got bored today and made a super simple rear deck.

Cant see your location but if you happen to be in the North East I have one of these slides I don’t need. Fits the 63qt arb fridge but my new camper came with a new fridge so just spare parts now. I have the rear seat of my Taco removed so I could probably test it and see if it fits for you and still can slide and tilt. FWIW the tilt feature is super handy (mine was originally on a decked platform under one of the first GoFast Campers).

you did exactly what I am wanting to do for my ARB 35L fridge. Have the 40% seat out and have been thinking about how to secure the platform for the fridge to rest on. The bolts for the seat hinges are obvious but am curious what you did to secure the rear of the platform?

    cheers,

i used the bolt for the seat belt (or something there) - well i got a longer one. as i didnt really line everything up right and only have one bolt i am also using a sling off the handle of the fridge to one of the tie down's on the back wall

Looks great! What size dometic were you able to fit back there? I'm in the market but have zero clue to the size I can run behind the driver seat as I have not had time to remove seats or measure with or without the back seat plastic panels below the back glass. I'd like to keep those in if possible.

I just finished a platform behind the drivers seat for my ARB 35litre fridge. Removed the plastic cubby behind the rear seat. Put butyl sound deadening stuff on the metal and then added 3/8” foam on top of that.

I've got the Dometic CFX355IM and it fits perfectly behind the driver's seat front to back.

I made a half-deck out of birch that attaches to the factory bolt holes. To that I attached a lock box with four screws through the floor the box into the wood.
It provides an excellent size storage capacity that is a little more secure and totally out of the elements. The box is light aluminum and fits almost perfectly to the interior width dimensions of the back section with about an inch to spare on ether side. Still allows for easy access to the factory storage bins in the floor.

It wouldn't be the best option for those with big dogs who ride in the back seat or for those wanting to have a bigger interior fridge or cooler that remains in the back seat throughout the whole camping trip. My 36qt Koolatron fits nicely over the floor storage bin and remains en route to the campsite, but then makes it into my pop up while camping.

Have you found those 3 screws solid enough to hold it down? I have been looking at making that exact setup. I will be mounting Wolfpacks there instead of the fridge.

i think so, perhaps hope so
if i had any type of woodworking skills i would have ensured that i had more mounting points

i have a sling off the fridge to a mounting point on the rear wall as a back up.

We've pretty regularly seen CFX35 and CFX3 55IMs fitted without issues. I think I've even seen a 75 in there but it looked like a very tight fit (probably pushed the passenger far forward too).
