How did it go? On the ktjo no no thread there are tons of reports of different hardware needed vs what is provided as well as cover caps loosely fitting.

Pretty nifty. Never seen those before. Kind of like a Tacoma Condom.

I got the KTJO. It has one small scratch in it, but not worth the headache of sending it back. Took about 30 minutes to install. Had trouble with the lower bolt.

Put the bottom pin in first, then the top, then slip the back over the bolt in the footwell. That’s how I always do it and it goes smoothly.

I have the lock and plan to install on my 2021 SR DCSB. One of the comments for the video states: "Please note that in the “SR/SX” model Tacoma’s, 2020 at least, there is no wire harness from the passengers side front to rear. I had to improvise by running the harness inside the frame rail and by wrapping it thru the holes in the frame. I did this by placing a fiberglass rod on the outside of the frame rail and by wrapping to it, thru the hole."

Anyone install on a 2021 SR?

I was doing my katzkin and had the seat out already and finished the lock harness before seat install. During my install I couldn’t imagine doing it with the seat still installed.

maybe just loosen the rear seat bolts/remove front bolts and tilt seat back/propped up on something

If you look at the clips, they are angled so insert panel at an angle too (not perpendicular)

I always just push it on flat. The angle of the pin will kind of “guide” it in angled.

Did the pin fall out and you put it back in? It’s possible you put it in with the angle the wrong way. If I remember correctly, the flat end of the base sticks out from the slot (not hidden underneath).

With that said, make sure you’re overlapping the door frame portion so it’s easier to clip in. It’s hard to explain, but go look at the other side and you’ll see how far it’s suppose to overlap the food frame trim/gasket.

    Make sense?

Kinda. I will try again tomorrow. I was just frustrated when it didn't seat properly, and there is nothing on the internet to tell me how to do it. Except for you guys! You guys rock.

If you don’t get it PM me. I can try to take a quick video of me doing it (although I’m sure it’ll be a pain since I’m trying to show someone else. Lol).

I would like to see this too. Mine is still being held on by one pin, no rattling and it looks fine but does bug me. It’s been that way since I installed the OEM power tailgate lock. I swear one day I actually tried for several hours to get both pins in but just couldn’t get it done.

Agreed. I was wondering what the problem was but, I forgot I have the desert does it seatjackers front and rear. It’s tight but not a fight.
