I've rented modern skis a few times, when we've been traveling and I didn't want to pay the airline $150 to check my gear so I didn't have to spend $60 on rentals. The skis I used in Brian Head were stiffer 180 Rossi's with a less radical 'race' cut. The kid at the rental counter kept trying to put me into a set of deep cut & bendy 155's like I was some dope out on his first ski day. He only relented when I insisted that if I could turn 180's in the wet cement that we get out here that turning 180's in that fluffy Utah powder wouldn't be a problem.

I think that my biggest issue with shaped skis is that I learned to ski in the late 80's and was totally done with the most advanced level of ski school that my little local mountain offered by probably '92. And back then they taught you a wide-stance Arlberg as a beginner and then transitioned you to a narrow-stance Wedeln in the more advanced courses. So I ski with my legs, boots, and skis pretty tight. Straight skis are great for my style of skiing, and shaped skis tend to interfere with each other at the tips, especially in a straight line. It's less of a problem with a less radical sidecut, but I still don't want to go out & buy a set and spend the next few seasons being pissed at them nuzzling each other while I learn a new way to ski. :notsure:

I love my old rear entry boots. A little more flexible and a lot more comfortable than the front-entry boots I've rented. Plus you can run them one-handed and I can put both of them on in like 30 seconds.
But, I think that the thing I like the most about my rear entry boots is watching my friends try to line up & snap 3 or 4 sets of buckles on their front entry boots on a cold day.

Had a great day with @skeletron and @emelianenkov doing an install on @skeletron 's 2020 tacoma. His C4 hybrid front bumper looks freaking sick! His rear Victory HC bumper is so stout and overbuilt that he could back into a semi and not need to worry about calling his insurance. Great truck sir.

We got back from skiing a little while ago. We had a great time!

And @Sloth it's a definite about the helmets. I just used one for the 1st time today. They are awesome and a great piece of mind.

:anonymous: APIMs? Those don't go bad...... :spy: No, never......

We probably replace one a month or so. :notsure:
My sentiments exactly. I was looking at moving up to 200a service, but the big wires scare me. I'll wire outlets and fixtures all day long, but in that panel, no thanks.
    That's pretty neat!
Agreed, that was a fun day! Nothing like not having a single bolt fight you coming out!

Did you wire it into a little red button on the shifter?

For a while it was showing no GPS quite a bit and would drop Bluetooth randomly for a few seconds here and there. It's been behaving better lately, though. If it acts up more again, I'll bug the dealer about it. The only place it consistently acts up is the slow startup. The rest is hit or miss.

I'm right next to Route 8, so my power rarely goes and when it does it's back quickly. If I ever go to a place more off the beaten path, I'd consider a solar array that actually allows me to function without the grid (with battery banks).

If that's cost prohibitive, I'd probably go propane like you.

Yeah, the delicate wiring was difficult with my wiring hammer, but we got it done!
I'd make an appointment. They should be able to run through a few tests and determine the point of failure.

Ironically enough, we always joke about your tool kit only containing a hammer but you're the one local guy I know that a lot of people went through for the dash mod which is all delicate soldering. Are you still doing those?

Got a roof rack? I'm guessing the water got into the pillar. If you don't have a sun roof, seems like the next logical area would be those strips where the roof rack attach.

Lmao there is work that I do for myself, and then stuff I get paid for. I try not to cut corners with other people's stuff.

I am still doing the gauges here and there. I've been swamped with house stuff, and the demand just kinda tapered off, so if someone reaches out to me, I'll do it, but I'm not actively looking for business.
