Add me to the list. Brand new (less than a year old) Northstar AGM battery.

Didn’t drive the truck for three weeks. Everything is dead.

Previous owner bro’d it out in the 4 months he owned it.

Remote start, keyless entry, alarm system (uninstalled a week after install) and head unit all bought and installed at Best Buy.

I’m afraid to even begin trying to figure this shiat out.

Great video posted. In my 5th gen 4Runner I’ve got a drain that will kill it over night. With the winter temps I froze my dead battery a few times before replacing it and adding a battery tender before I headed back to work here in Saudi...

I awoke to a dead battery Saturday with no apparent explanation. I jumped it and has been fine since but it’s a worrisome thing wondering if it’s gonna start each time. Alternator is working fine, connections are clean and tight. Didn’t have any problems when it was extremely cold.... ?.....

Have you considered bad cables? Do a voltage drop test on typos and neg cables.

Even if all that was installed properly (Best Buy... yeah, right!) There might be enough 'normal' draw to take a battery down in three weeks.

Thanks. That would be my next question. I know it’s constantly sending signal to the fob. And that annoying blue blinking light on the transmitter/receiver(?) glued to the windshield....

And I hate that so much crap was done to this truck. I removed a brake controller, janky dash indicator lights connected to the blinkers, etc. I am confident in my work of removing it but am so unsettled by the unknown of Best Buy installing an alarm/remote entry/remote start.

And the one invoice I have says, “disabled alarm due to it interfering with the remote start” FML

Got mine half way figured out. I charged the battery completely and let it sit - drained right away overnight again. Then i pulled the 10A fuse for the Radio in the engine compartment fuse box. charged battery again - now it works like it's supposed to. I do have an aftermarket Kenwood head unit in the truck, not sure why that would be draining the battery when the truck is off. I am pretty sure I did a good job installing it - soldered, heat shrink, etc. - and it was there for a couple of years with no issues. I will now pull the head unit and maybe put back the OEM radio to see if that fixes it. There might be something else running of that fuse, I guess - should really find a print to be sure.
