Show me your Aftermarket Steering Wheel!

Doesn't seem like a popular mod, but maybe it should be. I personally hate the stock wheel, I feel like I can never get it in the right position for my legs, visibility, and driveability.
Been looking at something like the Momo Mod. 30 for myself, but let's see what you've got!

 

The Lexus IS300 steering wheel directly bolts onto these trucks. The horn, cruise control and airbag even plugs in and works if you swap clock springs.

Yeah. The IS300 wheel, I think up to around 2003 works if you change clock springs. The ones in the Celicas are the same as the IS300 just with perforated leather. Same wheel can be found in a lot of early 2000's Toyotas/Lexus/Scion's. You can also use the column trim out of a 4Runner to get black trim.

The 01+ trucks dont even need to change clock springs to use them. Cruise and horn/airbag work fine as a plug and play.

 

Pretty much any Toyota/Lexus wheel will fit. It's airbag and other controls that need attention.

 

My 2nd gen wheel was 10x nicer than my 3rd gen wheel!

Interesting, what is the OD?

From what I can find online the factory one is 15.5" and the Lexus one is 14.5"

I'm wanting to go to a 13" for more leg room

 

I've got a 13" GT knock off that I've had for 20 years. I love it, it's been in all my trucks.

 

I have a GT in my crawler and it's dandy

 

Ill check when I get home. Actually bought a rav4 wheel (same as lexus sans leather and no shifter buttons) out of a junkyard that Im gonna send out to be reupholstered in leather.

 

Forgot I had a tape measure in the truck. Yeah 14.5" od.

 

While I dont think this setup would work in a second gen, Ive since replaced that wheel with one from an 01-ish Rav4 (no auto shift buttons) and the cruise control along with the airbag from the IS300 wheel swapped over to it just fine. I also had it leather wrapped.

Cheepy android radio remote (works well)!

 

I'm in a 1999 prerunner, have the is300 wheel with the airbag, but can't connect it (different harnesses). Trying to figure out what part I need to hunt down next! Anyone have any idea how I can make this work?

 

This is excellent. I have aspirations of making a button-controlled transmission so this would be perfect
