:hattip: I was at the Daytona FL dealership this AM looking at Tundra's, knowing I need to wait for what ever they have in store for us in the near future, when a salesman walked up.....

    Pleasant, knowledgeable guy.
Short story is he said to look for an 8 cylinder option coming to the 3rd gen Tacoma with the roll out of the new Tundra

Anyone else heard a rumor like this or was this just a guy having some fun with me ?

I've always said that putting in the 4.6L that the Tundras used to have would be what made this truck the #1 mid size to the ultra super duper #1 mid size.

    Somewhere hot, flat and brown.
Oh come on man... Yeah, a V8 is coming for the next Tacoma. He didn't give you the real story though... It's going to be a V8 with a mild hybrid system powered by unicorn farts. You heard it here first.

That's the one I'm hanging my hat on and waiting to see if it becomes reality.

Such a conundrum.... I seek more power but don't need the full sized cab and refuse to tie onto 12 MPG's
