Welcome to TW. Highly recommend buying from Crutchfield. They take the guess work out of what's compatible and required for the install. Tech support 2nd to none.

Yea, If I remember correctly; underneath the cowl on the passenger side, there is a gap that is prone to letting water in. Remove the cowl and put some rtv in there. Let me see if I can find the writeup on that.

Welcome to the club. Customize to your hearts content.

I bought mine a couple years ago, 2007 xrunner, 4.0, 6 speed manual. I’m fortunate to have a place I’ve been going to for almost 30 years, who I trust for alarm, tint, audio. First was a coded alarm. Then tint. Then audio. He put in a pioneer something something nex. Touch screen, apple car play, voice texting, backup camera, steering wheel controls, DVD player. Music comes from radio, xm, pandora, or cd. Also upgraded speakers front and back. For about $1k it sounds good as my $5k system in another car. Of course not nearly as loud or boomy. If you plan to install yourself, crutch field is the place.

I’d suggest whenever posting a question or problem, search first, you can probably find an answer there. If not found, describe in detail the issue. It won’t start. Better to say it cranks but doesn’t start, you get the idea. Also tell what combo you have. Having us guess when we don’t know if it’s 6 or 4 cylinder, manual or automatic transmission, 2 or 4 wheel drive. Let us know what you did recently. It drips oil. 20 answers later, I changed the oil yesterday.

There’s all kinds of people here, some of us are old and grumpy. So if someone posts something offensive, don’t let it get to you and firing back only makes it worse. I’ve been on many forums, this one has been the best.
