You didn't read it all did you ? The guy was hard of hearing and had his back to the officer as he approached him .

I agree completely with respecting all of our law enforcement communities for the job they do . Keep in mind when you point out the guy was carrying a knife , that the knife he was carrying is totally legal to carry , and unlike in our country , many states allow citizens to openly carry firearms .

Boo . Wrong thread for humour .

I have encountered some bad cops and some good ones. Probably more of the latter even but I would not have one problem with every cop out there getting disbanded. I have what I need to take care of me and my own and I will not need cops to protect me if the shit goes down.

Damn... I am almost speechless. That has to be the dumbest comment that I have ever seen in my life.

Not only is it LEGAL to carry that knife it is LEGAL to open carry. There was not one bit of probable cause for him to harass this person.

I will not give police any more respect than any other person I come across and I sure as hell do not respect the snap call this douchebag made.

I don't know about the first 6 seconds or so but this idiot cop did not identify himself as a police officer. If it was me walking down the street and some fuktard decides to run up behind me yelling I am not gonna be the one to turn around slowly. I am going to turn around quick and see what the hell is going on.

Let me know the next time you are walking down the street so I can run up behind you saying drop your knife... from the sound of it you would drop it before you even turn around to see who is giving the order.

There is no law stating that you can't carry a knife in your hand, so the guy that didn't hear the officer (which was unannounced) tell him to drop it, required being shot almost in the back? Why what did he do? Oh and death isn't the penaltiy of breaking the law so........

So to sum it up if an unidentified person yells at me to drop something that is legal for me to posses I had better do it or get killed as a result?

Oh and you are correct an officer won't know if a person is deaf but it is his job to find out what is going on before shooting the person.

I'm not illiterate but your comments make no sense.

i respect cops and am thankful for the service they provide, but when a cop oversteps his bounds it paints them all in a bad light. i for one am tired when i see a lot of cops roll through stop signs, drive well over the speed limit, neglect to use turn signals, turn on their lights to get through a light. they are not above the law, just like ever citizen they are suppose to operate within the law.

    Its better that way. Thanks.

Oh and most of us do to, when they are not causing issues such as this, which seems common for that department.

They are supposed to set an example not be the exception to it. This is how my friends and family in this field think and act.

Thank you but even if he was committing a crime it isn't for the officer to hand out at the end of his pistol. And no where is it determined that he was doing anything criminal with his whittling knife. Having it out is still not a crime. Thanks again for posting that. I thought you weren't going to explain any more? Who's illiterate?

It shall be unlawful for any person to carry, exhibit, display, or draw any firearm, dagger, sword, knife or other cutting or stabbing instrument, club, or any other weapon apparently capable of producing bodily harm, in a manner, under circumstances, and at a time and place that either manifests an intent to intimidate another or that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons. (2) Any person violating the provisions of subsection (1) above shall be guilty of a gross misdemeanor. If any person is convicted of a violation of subsection (1) of this section, the person shall lose his or her concealed pistol license, if any. The court shall send notice of the revocation to the department of licensing, and the city, town, or county which issued the license.

And here it states the punishment. Notice that it doesn't say shot to death on site.

So you say! I assume in tounges and riddles. Doesn't appear that you are capable of understanding. However you probably should contact that officer he'll need someone to aid in his defense.

    for the record

when you see cops do this...you dont have a CLUE as to where theyre going and what level of emergency theyre responding to

there are MANY calls that require lights and sirens to be cut LONG before reaching the destination to prevent the subject from being alerted to our arrival...

This is especially true on armed robberies, burglaries and the like...

It's a fairly regular occurrence for me to be running to a call, cut lights/sirens...and the proceed how i see fit taking into account my safety, safety of others around me, and the nature of the call at hand

But thats ok...keep complaining and I'll keep doing my job...i must be doing something right...ive caught 9 burglary suspects in the past 12 months and just put an armed robber in jail last night

I used to think like that (bad cops running lights) then spoke with my uncle who is an officer and he informed me that my 13 yr old ass didn't know shit. Since that day I can't help but think about that thanksgiving dinner whenever I see an officer driving in a way that appears to be irresponsible.

You make NO sense at all. I was merely pointing out that your grammatical skills are lacking since you felt the need bring up your reading and writing. For the record of course:jerkoff:.

Also, one period or one question mark will suffice.
