I hear ya, all part of life that helps keep things in perspective.
A balancing act trying to keep on top of things and at the same time not take it too seriously...

That's what made it all seem possibly legit.
He promised me some info, but surprise of surprises.... I haven't heard anything back from him, even after a gentle prodding :)

Can't believe he let a "live one" get away !

    A V8 in a Tacoma? :der:

So when do they stop pretending they have mid sized truck?

Too much to name for this little space
Yes I could see this happening. The Tundra and Tacoma will start to be built on the same frame in the future so might as well put in an option for a V8 for the Taco. Start loading down the Taco with armor and wheels and it sure feels like it needs a bigger engine

I doubt it buts it’s on the table

Toyota/Lexus has worked on a v8 5.0 for years and have only used it in the lc500 (to my knowledge)

Toyota has been dropping very hot and out of the(ir) box cars like Yaris and the supra

no sources have stated that Toyota is ditching the v8 in the tundra. I do strongly agree some sort of hybrid v6 option will be available.

although I think the chances are slim it’s not out of the question completely

    Wouldn't you like to know!

I can't really see it happening because of the company's "Green Initiative" to make all of their vehicles as efficient as possible. Maybe a V8 Hybrid? That would be cool AF! But I also read that the V8 will no longer be available in the new Tundra platform. So the fact they would have a V8 in a Taco and not a Tundra tells me that I highly doubt it would happen. But if it does...I'll be happy as a clam...or cookie monster raiding a girl scout troop in February. :cookiemonster:

I had a quick chat with my salesman and he has confirmed. 4G Tacoma is going to have a mid-engine V8 with a cab-over and independent rear suspension. Pretty fuckin rad if you ask me. Can’t wait....

Im going to go with, yes you will be able to get the same engine that the tundra has in the next tacoma...but that engine will be a turbo V6 with a hybrid option.....

    Slacker...

2016 sr 4cyl silver sky metallic- totaled after a month. Dumb girl not paying attention.

2016 SR5 V6 2wd magnetic grey metallic- lasted a few days before dealership tried changing the deal after signing a contract, so I gave it back.

    2016 SR5 V6 2wd white - great truck, but wanted a 4x4.

    2017 SR5 V6 4wd black- loved it. Kept until I wanted to try a 4runner out

2019 4runner SR5 4wd silver sky metallic- loved it. missed having a truck.

2021 Chevy Colorado Z71 4x4 satin grey- POS lemon. Made lemonade. Faster than Tacoma by a long shot, but LOADS of mechanical and electrical issues.

2021 Tacoma TRDOR 4x4 Barcelona red. Current.

Got to step your game up LOL :D

Like a true salesman he would say " Oh no, I meant it would have the power of a V8 with a V6 hybrid/PHEV".

I would more inclined to believe a factory turbocharged V6.

    They'll do a hybrid before a turbo.
