Yeah, I got a 2tb SSD and its mostly Steam games, that I can install/uninstall as I need to. I usually have about 5-10 games on it at one time, but my internet is fast enough to be able to hot swap in around 30 minutes or less depending on file size so it's not that limiting. I've considered grabbing an extra SSD but I don't really need to at this point. I have a Samsung 860 EVO 2tb. Runs plenty fast.

Alrighty! I grabbed a handful of interesting screenshots from Saturday's footage at Kansas Rocks. The event is called Frostbite. I was told that the turnout was at least 300 people.
I tagged along with a friend of mine who has a Wrangler with some nice mods and 37" tires. His is the black Wrangler with the bronze Method wheels.
    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.09.08 PM.jpg

The trails were very crowded in some areas where groups were moving together. I didn't mind it so much, since I was filming anyway.

This Gladiator was pretty cool. But you could tell that its longer wheel base was a challenge.
    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.13.32 PM.jpg

Got a few people going down a rocky drop. The trails were muddy so everything seemed twice as difficult. We kind of had to persuade the driver to go down. I don't think he initially realized the capabilities of his Rubicon.

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.14.27 PM.jpg

Another Jeep down the same hill.

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.16.15 PM.jpg

    Finally my friend's turn. Cake...

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.17.33 PM.jpg

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.18.25 PM.jpg

We then found a hill climb that no one has done yet, so it was fairly fresh.

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.19.29 PM.jpg

It was still challenging because of the muddy and wet rocks. Also, no lockers on the Jeep.

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.19.57 PM.jpg

Camera angles can be manipulated. I was using a gimbal that always kept the camera leveled. What you see is what it was. Minus the real life drama.. :(

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.23.00 PM.jpg

This was a pretty gnarly rock climb. We got down in some black diamond territory. I think psi was still around 20lbs.

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.24.13 PM.jpg

It doesn't seem as intense on video/photo, but this hill was a butt clincher!

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.25.46 PM.jpg

Just adults making adult decisions... We made it up eventually and it was pretty fun! But that wasn't going to be the toughest rock climb.

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.26.40 PM.jpg

One of the few Toyota's that came out that day. This is the famous hill climb. (I don't recall the name, but it sounds Native American)

This Wrangler had an LS swap in it and was absolutely nuts. He literally flew up the hill with zero hesitation. Im still not sure whether he saw me or not lol.

37" tires can make things look pretty easy...

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.32.20 PM.jpg

    Better yet with 40's

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.40.38 PM.jpg

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.34.00 PM.jpg

This was the final rock hill that we tried.Going down wasn't too horrible. Just had to take it slow.

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.35.24 PM.jpg

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.35.51 PM.jpg

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.36.23 PM.jpg

Decided that if we made it down, we should try to go back up. This ended up taking a long time and some careful spotting. But it was totally worth it!

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.37.50 PM.jpg

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.38.48 PM.jpg

    Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.39.37 PM.jpg

I really enjoyed Frostbite. It was muddy and I probably would have not had a good time if I would have taken my Tacoma. But it really motivated me to keep trying to save to mod my Tacoma some day.

Thanks for posting the pics! Looks like a good time, if just a bit crowded for my taste. Also nice to see people wheeling trucks older than my crap

Possibly. That gen ran from '88 - '94. I think that's the '92 facelift. My YJ is a '93, so we're really at a toss up.

I could also be completely wrong. Not the most well-versed on Toyota design history

89-94 with a few 95s (more of left over models sold late) but that one is 92 or newer since the grill is different unless he swapped it out which idk why the older ones looked better in my opinion but im prob biased since i had a 91 lol

    Thanks for the insight

But yeah, it's still up in the air. Could be newer, also possibly older

Nice. Of all the options, I'm still rather partial to my stock '11 grille. Considering a paint matched surround to get rid of the chrome, though.

    Pickup aside, that CJ7...

it was a pain man lol i got the correct year one (was chrome with the toyota letters on the grill) but it was chrome and only two clips worked so it rattled all the time had another chrome with a massive crack in it and hated it with a passion, then found the grey one like the early years with the letters toyota on the grill ordered it and it came broke so i ordered another and it was perfect and i ran that grill from then on

the cj is in pretty good shape ive seen it before when i use to go out all the time (if its the same one who knows lol)

That almost sounds as though it wasn't worth the effort, but glad it paid off eventually.

You keep talking about when you used to go out. Sounds like we need to drag you back into the dirt...

Also, just bought more Lego parts for a project. My wallet aches. Heaven forbid the day I also start throwing money at the truck

back then it was i wanted my truck to be in good shape i had plans to fix it up fully and make it a prerunner but the trans went so i gave up on that dream and sold it.

and ya i use to go a lot it was either wheeling or camping almost every weekend it was great fun but i broke lots of things and im paying for it now and slowly getting parts and repairing things. once my friend is available ill be getting the front end finally fixed so that will be nice then next is new tires and fenders and to fix my door

and ouch what you buy this time lol
