After my first trip with two kids (One being a one month old) I am having serious doubts about my plan to keep my adventure Tacoma through kids... well that and I think my wife wants more... so I’m thinking about riding the wave of rediculously high Tacoma values...

Would anyone want to buy this custom Retrax topper Mx/ custom bed rack setup? My plan was to weld these bike racks side saddle style and have a full bed with waterproof storage for camping/ gear while then throwing a basket up top with a prinsu but it’s all just sounding like delaying the full size truck route.. figured we could work out a price if someone is interested since the bed rack is custom welded to modified (chopped in half brackets from RCI) and spray can bed lined.

I’ll be looking at selling the Tacoma too if someone wanted to avoid the covid prices, if not I’ll trade the thing in and move on.

Selling a 6’ softopper and a bed rack designed to work around the softopper. Custom built rack with side mount bike/ski/canoe etc racks. Sold the tepui that was one there to build my own tent so I’m gonna do something different for the rack setup. Rack could use some paint touch up and the softopper gasket underneath the rail is peeling a little bit, but both easy fixes. Located in Fort Collins but I’m in Laramie during the week for school. $650 takes both OBO (would like to sell together but make me an offer), including the side mount rails, not including the bike racks. (The side mount rails use a t-slot, so any roof rack accessories designed for t slots will bolt right up). Also, the rack has a cool pivoting design for occasionally hauling tall loads, but I never really used that. Oh also, top of the rack is flush with the top of the cab of the truck, so nice and low profile. Has capability to hard mount a Tepui roof tent directly to it to save the 1.5” extra height from the adjustable rails on them

My design leans the bikes in about 12° so with 800mm bars, they don’t hang out more than ~2” past the edge of the mirror.

Trying not to make this too long, thanks. oh and because I know if I don’t someone will get mad at me, here’s a pic of it off the truck as it is now, just hard to show how it really looks off the truck out of context so that’s y most pics are on the truck.

    upload_2021-2-28_16-11-47.jpg

    thanks all for looking!

I’ve been looking for one for a long time.

If you find a set of four and want me to go in on two, if the price is right, I’ll do it.

if it is any worth, I have these rotrax, and haven’t found them to be very good. I have 3, had 4.... lost 1. I initially bought two, they had issues grabbing every time I tried to use them, got a second set as a replacement and still don’t feel that they are that great.

Thanks for providing actual real world experience!

i found a promo code that ended up working on some maxtrax so i bought a set. The mounting solutions for them were easy and i tend to use mine alot in the winter for getting jerries unstuck so i could justify $275 insurance policy.
