OP is a salesman and was trolling y'all to see if you take the bait.... some did, some called BS... I wouldn't be shocked if Toyota comes out next week and says the Tundra and Tacoma will be either Ecoboost engine shared with Ford or totally electric as the only options in 2024.
That's how crazy automotive world has become. Eh, lets lets bring back the Supra... but with a BMW partnership> WTF?

No kidding. The Tundra is just to big for 80% of the offroading I do.

 

None of the V8 stuff makes sense. Packaging and power have created more of a demand for smaller displacement, high output 4 and V6 motors, not V8. I wasn't a fan of this new powertrain ideology companies are going towards... until I've driven a few things and have friends beating the living H$(( outa these small motors. The turbo 4 in the Silverado 1500 is a perfect example. My neighbor is hauling a box trailer loaded up with HVAC repair equipment all day, every day and it's not missing a beat. We have Ecoboost 2.7's in our company fleet and they are taking a beating with no issues. Even my cousins kid is beating on a turbo 4 Camaro and can't kill it. I just don't see V8's as the top motors anymore. Weight and packaging alone, make them more desirable to manufacturers.

Unfortunately, the industry is going to more efficient engines which means the NA torque monsters are going away. Replaced by turbocharged efficient engines. For better or worse, I would not be surprised to see all mid sized trucks go to turbo 4's.

 

Well I was just responding to the IL 6 comment. I think Toyota only does IL 6's in Japan and Australia.

 

I know, there is so much we don't get from toyota in the US. And Nissan. The Nissan Patrol would sell like hot cakes here.
