I'm starting to think photoshop is Reddits best friend how much money they act like they're throwing over there.

 

i think there are a few honest ones, especially the GameStop winners but most of them are definitely photoshop and lies. The FOMO on not being perceived as a legend is way worse than the FOMO on actually being a legend

50x30$=$1500. At the time, I would have been willing to bet MAYBE 90 bucks, so that's 3 calls. That's "only" 90 grand. Is 90 grand a butt load of moo-lah? YUP. Would I be happy with 90 grand instead of 90 bucks? YUP. But I'm not sitting here thinking I would have spent 20 bucks and gotten 10 mil, I missed out, etc. I had and still have risk tolerances that say "I will not risk more than X Y Z on this" which would have limited my upside on the gains. And at the time with how much I knew about options, I would have just bought shares - 90 bucks would have become closer to a few grand, not 90k.

But yeah - there's definitely some people who made bank on that.

I realize you can lose money pretty easily, but you can do the same buying high and riding to the ground... not that I’ve done that ever

 

That's the beauty...within 30 days and the wash sale rule recalcuates it for you!
Plus...The second you sell $GME it will go to $800+

 

So, let's say I buy a call. I pay 500$ for a call. It can expire absolutely worthless, zero dollars.

Let's say I bought 500$ in HTZ before the crash, 11 bucks a share (let's be nice maths and say 10 bucks a share). That's 50 shares, which are now worth about 1-1.20 a share, so that's 50$.

Options can expire completely worthless. Shares at least if you lose money, even if they go BK, you end up with some monies at the end.

 

TX and Mississippi are fully opening up tomorrow and next week.. Come on stimulus and fully opening lol

 

RIGHT NOW..
I have the $35 $RKT 3/5 call. I paid $525. This gives me the right to buy 100 shares from the issuer of the call contract for $35 by market close on 3/5. The seller gets the premium of $525 no matter what. Because I paid $525 the contract will be profitable for me as long as $RKT is trading over $35+$5.25 or $40.25. $RKT is presently trading OVER $35/share so the contract is "In the money"
Now that contract was priced at $900 at market close. There is a TIME value to a contract. The more in the money a contract the less it deviates from the share price and the time value is a smaller % of the price. As a contract approaches it's expiration the price decays...that's why OUT OF THE MONEY contracts quickly lose their value towards expiration.
So in addition to this call, I purchased shares of $RKT...
Those shares are good for as long as $RKT is a company.
Now by expiration I have to decide what I want to do with this contract.
Is it in the money? No, it expires worthless... Yes? Do I want to sell to close or exercise it...
If $RKT is trading at $55 on friday and I think it's still got legs I could either roll the call, Sell to close my $35 call and buy one further out..or exercise the call. For $35x100 or $3500 I get 100 shares of $RKT.
OR I can say "this is good enough for me" and sell to close the call for $xx

 

RKT ship has sailed for the short term methinks. The runup play was yesterday. If you guys didn't get your calls then, I'd watch as it slides back down to the mid 20's by Friday. Might, maybe get a little bit more out of it tomorrow morning.

That's basically what I did but didn't sell my GME moved other things and used profits to get those RKT calls. Cashed out for 1.2k and put it back into GME and thought I was ahead of the curve, now they're worth three times that lol. Still have that $33 call at $640 profit right now though.

 

WOW WTF $TGT is on sale right now, huh?
