Figured I’d add my data point to this thread. I lifted my truck in the Spring of 2020. I immediately noticed the dreaded vibration. Went ahead and installed the ECGS bushing and it’s been smooth sailing ever since.

Is it pretty obvious when the bushing is the source of the vibrations? I've got vibrations that skirt the line of either being real or my paranoid self making them out to be. Can't really get them to consistently come and go and switching to 4WD doesn't appear to make a difference.

I just finished changing mine out and could always get it to either go away or drastically reduce with 4wd on, if you cant get the vibes to go away with 4wd i'd recommend maybe checking wheel bearings.

if it's a rhythmic vibration id say most likely needle bearing or wheel bearings. the vibes i had from my driveshaft felt a lot different to me than the needle bearing.

That's my problem I keep questioning whether it's the drive shaft or the needle bearing. Still going to swap out the needle bearing here soon when I finally have a minute.

This is what really drives me up the wall. Not knowing where the vibrations are localized or what causes them or how to trigger them. I'll go do some searching for wheel bearings. There's definitely been times where the vibrations make me feel like something is grinding, say particulates in bearings. Sometimes it feels...girthier which makes me suspect a different system. Could the wheels/tires themselves be causal? I'm getting close to needing to replace them and have some 275s for SEMAs sitting in my garage just dying to get mounted.

Regardless of outcome, I will also replace the bushing if for no other reason than peace of mind.

Anybody have an ECGS needle bearing removal tool for the 7.5" calmshell (1st gen) they want to offload? I am planning to do this replacement soon to address the vibration issues I am experiencing in my 2001 taco after putting on an OME lift (881's up front).

I am also looking for an ECGS needle bearing removal tool but 8" for the 2nd Gen if anyone has one they don't need for sale. Gonna do a lift and the ECGS bushing in about a month and figured someone may have the tool. Message me if you have the removal tool and want to sell it thanks!

I installed the bushing after my lift and it still made the the noise, there is a TSB for a new front diff. The dealer replaced my front diff and it went completely away

Any chance you are wanting to sell the removal tool? I'm going to be doing a lift and bushing install soon.

Mine was a very slight humming that appeared immediately after lift. Replaced the bearing with the bushing and it is now gone. If I were to do it over, I would just plan it with the lift install.

I installed a 2" lift and it felt fine for a few days. Then I started to notice a pulsating vibration in my steering wheel at around 45-50mph. I took it out on the hiway and tested it out at varying speeds and it repeated. I put it in 4wheel-hi and it stopped- Took it out and it started again. I will be replacing it next week.

Same boat. Slight lift at 1500 miles. I'm at 10k now with vibration between 45-55. 4WD makes it stop. I'm scheduled for a bushing install next week. Hope that fixes it..I swear every single mod on these things leads you on a goose chase for another mod...:spending:
