Did you serve on Canada's only submarine?

Served on all three of the 'O' Boats (Oberon Class): Qualified on HMCS/M Okanagan in '87, and then did time on both Ojibawa and Onondaga before I left for the surface fleet (NOT by choice).

Thank you for keeping this world safe, sir. :canada:

I am sorry that I assumed that Canada only had 1 sub.

Ok, TDU stands for trash disposal unit. Long story short, you roll up a flat metal can with holes in it, fold and secure the bottom of the can (insert tabs and fold over) drop in a couple of TDU weights (10 lb steel circle) drop it in the trash compactor, crush garbage, drop in a couple more weights, close it up, and send it to the bottom of the sea.

I was little and was always sent in the horrible tiny cramped places to get stuff and put stuff away. Soooo we hatched a plan.

The bunks have a tray for the mattress, and it folds up to store your clothes and stuff.

We started telling another sonarman named John he looked sick. Kept asking what was wrong. Everyday we kept slipping tdu weights under his mattress so the tray he lifted everyday got heavier and heavier. I know we got 12 or 13 in there before he noticed.

I've had some furniture taking up half of my downstairs living room for entirely too long. This weekend I found a place that takes furniture donations and gives them to people in need. They'll be coming tomorrow so I moved everything upstairs to make it easier when they get here.

There's another loveseat behind me, too.

I'm not going to know what to do with all this extra space!

Thank-you, and no worries. We don't have quite the same size fleet as do you, but when required, we can do a fair job!

Another time we were in Scotland. Me and John were drunk, not a little bit but stupid drunk.
I follow him out of the bar we were in, he walks up to a car, opens the back door, slides in and across and I just sit down and close the door.
Dude driving looks at us and says " I'm not a taxi, Mate."
John says "take us to the base man."
Dude says "I'm not a TAXI MATE!!"

John says "take us to the base man."

Dude just turns around and drives off, takes us to the gate and drops us off. We paid him, laughing, he was laughing too.

So it is like a mile walk down to the pier. Dark, cold, Christmas time.

We set off staggering and halfway lost, near had been there before. Finally find our sub. Request permission to come aboard. Climb down the hatch and go to bearthing. So I go to go pee and brush my teeth. I hear yelling and come running back. John had just crawled in somebody else's bunk that was empty, unzipped, stuck his dick out the curtain and started peeing in the floor. So all the lights get turned on, everybody woken up, and get his belligerent ass cleaned up.

I've seen that one before. They did a hell of a lot better than I could.

And I'd be more inclined to have a pool table. :D

I absolutely and utterly disavow any knowledge of any similar event happening. Ever.

    Rosyth or Faslane?
