I don't think many of us really care about hybrids.

Give me a full electric vehicle that has the Toyota reliability, runs 600 miles on a charge while towing 4k lbs (for a taco) and 10k lbs (for a Tundra) and I'll be the first person in line to buy one.

Other than that, Just give me crushed up dinosaurs to burn. The EV market has to come into line with what real people use their vehicles for. Until then, I'm not buying any hybrid technology. I'll go gas or I'll go battery. I don't want the in between nonsense.

I'll also need an option for when I'm 200 miles back in the NV desert that's better than me carrying jerry cans of fuel. I'm not gonna wait for a day and a half for my fold out solar panels to charge my battery.

And that's why, unless mandated by law, EV's...

Lol then you don't understand hybrids.
    More low end torque.
    More range.
    More everything.

So why doesn't Toyota have one built into a pickup truck yet?

He may have been referring to full electric vehicles?

I have a feeling 4th generation Tacoma will offer a hybrid version.

Hybrids are a different animals than full a blown EV, and I'm kind of warming up to them because of the TOYOTA success with them. And less we forget, they've been around since the '40's so its pretty well proven.

The infotainment system. Entune doesn't do anything well and the steering wheel controls being backwards is silly (volume up and down should be the up and down buttons on the steering wheel). Unfortunately, my 2019 doesn't have android auto so that makes it worse. Change the head unit, controls, speakers, all of it. It would make every day driving better.

Coming in second place, I'd like a manual shift 4wd. Give me a stick connected directly to the transfer case. I don't use 4wd often so I can get by w/o it, but it would be nice to have.

    Oh I read it.
For an offroad vehicle, hybrid is much better solution than full EV.
    You wanna get home right?

    For sure!

And I've never been stranded with cans full of fuel I can pour into my gas tank.

Gas technology: Stupid simple, decades of proven sucess.

Hybrid technology: Marginal benefits -- Can also put gas in to keep going. A bit of extra maintenance.

Full battery: Everything you always wanted, but the tech just isn't quite there yet to make it practical.

I'm not arguing with you, I promise. I just don't want the in between solution. I'll burn gas until the full electric vehicle is the more viable option. The full EV is going to be much better than a gas truck once the technology gets there.
But it's not there yet, and I'm not going to be an early adopter. When the tech is solid, proven, and warrantied, I'll be more than happy to switch.

A factory chassis-cab option would be cool.

Especially the “and gauges”. Gimme a real water temp and oil pressure so I can see the damn data. And yes, I know I can pay to get this but that’s true for anything. I’ve already paid to get things I don’t expect it to have on a base model but no model comes with these and they were common growing up.
