My smoked sequential indicators are actually brighter than the OEM ‘s that were in there...

I'm not comparing weak OEM to bright smoked lenses. I'm saying if you have two bulbs of equal lumens, and you place a smoked lens over one, it's going to be dimmer than an unmasked lens. Whether it's headlamps, tail-lights or side-markers. In my opinion, that's foolish. Replacing dim lights I recommend. Replacing dim lights and then obscuring your replaced light output is dimwitted in my opinion. Faddish, maybe fashionable, but not wise or safe. In front of a jury, the driver with smoked lenses who could not see or be seen as far as another without the obscured lenses loses the battle of comparative negligence.

You were quoting someone's photo of aftermarket mirror indicators, were you referring to headlight covers?

If so then yes using them at nighttime is dumb...

Your statement may be true for incandescent bulbs but LEDs are so much brighter while using less power I don't think it applies.

No BSM, only heated. My Taco is a 2017 TRD OR so it does not have that feature.

34’s are 285/75 17. I had 285/70’s which are approximately 32.8”. CMC require for both. A lot for trimming for the bigger size.

Your tires are about half an inch wider than the 255/80s I'm wanting to run.... So depending on the wheels I run, hopefully a cmc is enough.

On my last 4runner with 285s I did the CMC, fender liner relocation, and trimmed the bumper itself... But on this taco I'd rather not trim anything not needed... One of my reasons for wanting to run skinnies... Also care more about height increase than width.

Really wanting to run 17x9 -12mm fuel beast... But with toyo saying 9" max width I'm hesitant. Their rating is surely for fully aired up... And I'm guessing aired down it would be much easier to unseat a 9 inch wheel on skinny tires.

So back to the drawing board for wheels I guess... 8" would be ideal... But finding a 17x8 that I like is slim pickings... I'll go 8.5 max I reckon. Opens up more options... But... DAMN I really like those fuel beast LOL.

When it’s on it’s probably twice as bright as the stock signal. These are definitely an upgrade as far as visibility compared to stock which is dismal.

Left side is OEM, right side MESO, so much safer with the aftermarket. Not intentionally dimmed although I like that “look”better but definitely intentionally brighter. Check the bottom picture. In actuality the difference is even greater, the smoked ones are super bright.
I do agree with the opinion of smoked headlights though, absolutely no sense in the smoked look there. 17AFAAF2-BF75-4CE1-BF05-F38EC51D90E1.jpg

I agree with everything you just said. I ended up with the SUMA Performance mirrors with an integrated turn signal. I chose these over the spotter mirrors because I like the cleaner look without that extra chunk of mirror down at the bottom. What a huge difference, I also feel like I can see better behind me, and now when you back into a spot you can see the tires and the parking spot lines. Its freaking great.

Nice and clean. Is the Dongar ready made, or did you have to tweak it. Id like to do the same but cant find the right adapter.

See my post above. I found some that were heated, but didn't say anything about BSM.

I'm going to put this out there and let y'all have fun with this one. Local Ford dealership, that has been in business a LONG time, doesn't seem to understand differences in Tacoma trim levels. I've already written them an email outlining a few that jumped out at me, and that it wasn't good business to advertise something that it's not. This is like a where's waldo of why this isn't an "Off Road".

I am originally from South Texas. I was stationed at Fort Knox when I retired from the Army (still work here as a Civil Servant). My wife is from Baton Rouge. One does not simply marry a Baton Rouge girl without assimilating into the Borg. I am a rabid LSU fan, and this drives the lowly Wildcat fans batshit insane. Geaux Tigers!
