Since your tune is based on the K4.0, you’ll want to adjust shift points for around here. Otherwise it holds 5th way too long and bogs when headed up the hills, then it won’t shift out of 4th back to 5th when you need it to.

Friendly advice from another vF user.

Then you've never had it prepared well... and besides, I suppose it could be subjective.

It's subjective for sure. But bear is absolutely better :D
    Cougar is surprisingly good too.

I've heard that. Makes me look at the local cats differently... ;) I've never tried it.

My favorite wild animal i've had is fried alligator tail tacos. It was amazing... I don't mind bear though. I much prefer elk but I wouldn't waste bear meat.

There was an amazing restaurant going up to Virginia City from Carson City, Gold Hill Inn, that had all kinds of unusual meats. Ostrich, alligator, escargot, wild boar, etc, and at first I thought the menu was too ambitious... but the chef was amazing. I never had a bad meal there. The bleu cheese escargot was especially wonderful. Wish I still lived there, just for that restaurant.

If you ever venture out to New Orleans hit up Drago's metairie and get the gator tacos... sooo good. I like trying exotic meats. Axis deer is also a favorite of mine.

Kayaking the Louisiana swamps is on my bucket list, so maybe Drago's should be there too. Yum!

A few objective thoughts to throw out there...
Elk is super lean, while bear is marbled with fat. Elk fat sticks to your teeth but bear fat melts like pork. That contributes to the more mild, shallow flavor of elk while bear is rich and flavorful. It's like chicken breast vs thighs ... for some reason a lot of people don't prefer thighs, but when I fire up the bbq it's the dark meat for me.

Of course a lot is going to depend on the season too. Elk before winter taste a lot better than when they've been eating dead grass. Bear in spring is prime but in fall it all depends on what they've been scavenging.

I’d have to be pretty desperate to eat a chunk of bear. Lions fine, can’t tell the difference between it and pork. I prefer my deer to come from the hay fields, though the one I shot on the mountain this year is fine. He lived on the Forest, not in the flats. From my experience, elk taste better when they come without antlers, and before December.

Bearritos are a weekly staple in my house :notsure: Never had an issue with it. I wouldn't say it's better than elk... but it depends on the time of year you shoot the bear and where it lives. I wouldn't eat a dumpster-dweller.

One of these days, you'll need to come over for a grillout. I made up some freerange, grass fed, 99.98% organic VA whitetail from this winter mixed with pork and mixed in some chorizo seasoning. It is no joke the best meat based item I've had ever. Form bun, add a slice of pepperjack and a good bun,

You don't have to ask me twice! Sounds amazing.
I'm assuming the other .02% is straight Roundup and for the record I'm totally ok with that.
