Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

I just recently installed KTJO's Front Driver Side Grab Handle. It wasn't a terribly bad install, took my time figuring out how I was going to get the top bolt in. Thanks to a fellow TW'er, I forgot his handle that chimed in with this tip as in his install. In our/my case, I had the top angled away from the frame column towards the passenger side and a little toward the windshield to get the top bolt threaded. Tightened the top both to set the new plastic pillar to frame. The bottom bolt cover is a tad loose, if it begins to fall loose often I may try a little silicone to hold it in. Just looking at the bottom bolt cover, my mechanical observations is that one end seems to be snug(sits indented) while the opposite loose end doesn't have ability to grab unto the innerworkings to keep itself snugly closed. lol

ps, I'm gonna have deInstall to reinstall my dash tweeters and am confident I can reInstall the Grab Handle Kit. I messed up the new tweeter brackets not forming it right for a nice fit. It's kinda torqued not being flush right now.

 

I did finally hear back from KTJO via email late last night. She claims (a.k.a. lied) she tried to issue the refund over the weekend, but due to the date of the purchase being over a year ago, she wasn't able to process the refund through the credit card. Come on. At least try to make a believable lie. Tried to refund me over the weekend, but waited until late Tuesday night to say it didn't work? Horseshit. So she asked if I had paypal, venmo, whatever to send the refund. Good 'ol hurry up and wait to see how fast she sends it to my paypal. Wonder if wellsfargo already reached out to her or not.

 

When all ya got is excuses, there's much bigger problems.

When you're a problem denier, the house just ain't in order.


It sounds like not a single lesson has been learned in this entire debacle. I wasn't exactly expecting any learning though.

 

Personally, I’d want to be refunded via the original method of payment. I’d let her know the dispute has been started and she can contact xyz to let them know she wasn’t able to refund it for whatever reason. I’d hope she wouldn’t do it, but if I was in the process you’re in, I’d be worried she would try to reverse the PayPal once you dropped the dispute with the cc.

 

That sucks hard and would really make me never.....uh.....man I love those rocks! Utah! Get me two!

I miss Utah. I'd move back today if I had the chance. Other than the liquor laws and insufferable mo-mos, it's a fantastic place.

Yeah. “Sorry, people, I overcommitted and am treating this like a government contract and will try harder” would have gone a lonnnnnnnng way for the, dare I say it; community?

 

Yes. It would have. As well as taking a beat to consider the installation issues before doubling down on the next batch.


Oh well. In this case, hindsight is legally blind.
