I would guess that it’s either a heat shield or to protect the hose from rubbing against something and tearing over time.

I believe those are coolant hoses for the throttle body.

Thanks. Makes sense cuz once I managed to get the rusty ole clamp to move & pried the hose off, a little moisture came out. & although I'd like to know what each one is for, I guess as long as they're not going to potentially have any oil passing through it'd be good to change them out. Sure wish I thought about doing all this when I did the valve cover gaskets.... s'all good....

I am hating the siliconintakes 4mm hose.

I ordered the kit after reading comments here.

This is the smallest line in the kit.

What lines I started taking off (EGR valve area) and replacing, the ID is the same.

However, the OD is much larger. So it is too big to properly fit existing hose brackets, like the triple near the EGR.

When I cut matching lengths to replace I do not get tight fits anywhere.

I have extra 4 mm hoses from silconehose.com that you can have to see if there’s a difference.

I’m also in Houston or I could mail it.

I actually found that I needed 6mm, 3mm for all the smaller id stuff, charcoal canister, etc. & some 8mm. None of the 10 or 4. I ended up using the 4mm for windshield fluid hose. Glad it fit somewhere. I found with mine, that while the end of the hoses were 4mm id, if I cut one in the middle & measured, it was actually 3mm. 8mm was actually 6 & 10 was 8.

Right. I was able to slide the 4mm & some of the 8's right on & off without resistance. Didn't like that....

Just changed the ORIGINAL clutch master and slave cylinder, 190,xxx miles. I'm pretty sure I bumped the original vacuum lines because I got a check engine light after fixing my clutch... This all happened last night so I'm going to check the codes tonight when I get off work, but because I'm nearly 90% certain that I busted up a vacuum line somewhere I'm looking for a replacement kit and the comments towards the present day aren't very assuring. Does someone have a working link directly to a reputable vacuum tube kit product?

Wow! Thanks guys! Error code is P0441, Google is telling me check gas cap first, got gas yesterday too... Gonna do the hoses regardless, they are cracked at the connections.

did you end up using the silicone hoses for those coolant lines? I am doing the valve covers among other things so I wasn’t sure if I should swap them or leave them as is. I read this article and it makes me a little uneasy to swap them, but at the same time such small lines shouldn’t lead to much evaporation. On the flip side most of my trips consist of 7+ hour driving stints so maybe it just isn’t the best setup for me.

I did at first, however I ended up swapping them out with fuel hose. Nothing major happened. It just seemed as though hose calmps+heat+silicone hoses did not work out very well. For instance when I undid a clamp to the IAC, there was coolant residue ahead of the clamp. Plus the longer one that winds through under the throttle body seemed to cave a little with all the heat.
Soooo.... All that to say. I do have silicone hoses which work fine for some places. However, I have fuel line for the three under the throttle body, the brake booster, the pcv valve, the 3mm hose that runs in between the upper & lower plenum, the fuel pressure regulator & the tps. Also, for good measure, the two that run from the y connector (other end of the vacuum only hose that runs from the IAC) to the intake manifold. Those two are a PITB to get at, so I put fuel line in for good measure. You'll be able to get a shot at these when you do the gaskets. Fuel hose may be overkill. Regular vacuum hose may work fine for all these, except the pcv valve, as well.
Whether you choose to use silicone or not, you definitely should change out any old hoses when you get the chance though....

Anyone know what I am missing here and whether it is supposed to be connected to something ? I had (have?) a vacuum leak. I have have searched the engine bay and cannot see another end where a missing hose might connect. I have seen pics in this forum where this port has an aluminum plug but mine does not. It is a 2WD 3.4 V6 TRD.

It is definitely sucking air through this.

That's just capped off. Your cap is worn through and broken.

One moment, and I'll get the part number for the cap if you want OEM, otherwise just slam whatever vacuum cap on there you want.
