Backup cam in the tailgate handle mod.
I mounted my backup camera on my pop & lock. lets hope when I wire it it works and visualizes well in that position. the factory cam is in the same place but I think mounts down at an angle. I will update when I get it hooked up.

The factory camera is angled down to aid in aligning the trailer hitch. The wide angle allows you to see behind you as well. I say if you can't at least see the edge of your bumper you're going to plow over some kid some day.

Yeah I wasnt sure about the angle. They do provide you with angled shims that can be placed to point the lens down. I do use my mirrors anyway to see blind spot around my shell. I fugure with the camera it may take some adjusting but I will definately have a better view behind me than before. Watch out kiddies!

I think only 3 months later although it felt like a year.

Heres a pic of camera at work. Sorry some glare but image is really clear and works great. I can see everything. I did a test and placed a small water bottle on the ground and couldnt see it about a foot behind me. so unless a very small child is lying on the ground a foot behind my truck I should be able to see most things. The only thing is I still like to rely on my mirrors more so only if I really cant see behind me will I use the bu cam.

Can you see your trailer hitch? There's where I've found my camera to come in most handy.

Cant see it but dont tow anything. Aint got no money for towable toys! I live in CA and have a disgustingly huge mortgage pmt that sucks all my cash away! Put the cheap ($15) camera in just to see how well it worked with the cheap ($200) HU i have. The HU has everything (dvd, gps, cam, bluetooth, steering wheel contols, tv, ipod, etc.) and works great. I will probably angle cam down with angle shims that came with cam. I may need to see trailer hitch one of these days!
