He did have one of those aftermarket remote starts that gets wired inline to the OBDII but said he disconnected it before the process started

Question for trucks under warranty - are there any parameters set during customization tweaks or a flash that would show it was not an approved dealer update?

It would be pretty obvious if the seat belt chimes were turned off.

My particular dealer had mine a few times after I did many Customizations and mods. Some odd ones like the 2Lo Mod (2LM). I never even got a good / bad comment.

I had a tech comment positively on Meso's DIY Pro knob I have connected to the front camera. He accidently pressed it. Pardon the thread derailment.

    Nice!

There's no derailment here. BS should technically be in the title, but I'm keeping that clean for now as folks are still discovering this thread, as crazy as that sounds.

Called my dealer today and I don't feel good about it. They "have to take it for a drive to duplicate the problem". I told the advisor my concern is they will say it's normal and send me on my way without doing it. I explained that Toyota has already said there is a problem by issuing the TSB. I explained that all you have to do is Google the TSB number and you'll see thousands of pages on it. He seemed like he's never heard of it.....

I guess we'll see Friday if they do it or not. This is in Eastern Iowa.

I can do the TSB and / or tuning for you if the dealer gives you the run around. In waterloo area.

Sadly, he probably isn't lying. The sevice advisors ususally don't know crap about anything, let alone cars/trucks specifically.

I have the same truck. I followed the promps and pushed the button to shut off the truck. I never had a problem doing the TSB update or the tune...I'm curious is this not a good thing to do? You said you never touched the button and it worked?

You follow the prompts just as they say. I've done a bunch of PTS Tacos with no issues so far.

Question...I'm in need of clarification. Can I tune multiple trucks with the same ECU ID as mine or do I need to buy more credits for each vehicle

On the newer vF versions, you need to have four Credits to Unlock each VIN.

Yes, it is. If you look at the pricing, the larger Credit packages have some savings.

Do you need to have the latest Tsb to have your truck tuned?
