I took off an air dam once
Sub’d, little bit different situation, but i have 17 inch Ray10s in my garage waiting for my back-ordered eibach stage 1 kit to come in and im tripped up on tire size. My mind has been going between 265/70/17-255/75/17-255/80/17- and even 275/70/17. :annoyed:

74# was my old setup and it was fine. However 5th gear acceleration on highway is basically non existent

Didn't see if you said manual or Auto, I don't know anything about the Auto, but I didn't feel that I was stressing mine at all. Just plan on downshifting if you see any sort of uphill :D

And truthfully, if you really hate the performance, that's a nice wheel/tire combo, shouldn't be hard to sell.

I’m still a bit iffy, because I know I can definitely return them for some lighter tires, but these are E rated so better for punctures on trails and what not.

I offroad quite aggressively, and a lot. LT's haven't failed me yet. I guess the hipsters call it "overlanding", I call it a love of camping and a disdain for crowds.

Despite how shiny my truck looked in the picture, the paint is an absolute mess of scratches and chips.

That truck is very nice sir, The fact that I’m debating this over 5# and not throwing them on the truck already is driving me crazy lol

Just do it, it will look great and the 2.7 isn't as bad as everyone pretends it is. 60k miles and I'm very happy with its performance.

It’s gonna be a total dog on the highway or the dunes. In 4lo you’ll be fine. Should consider re-gearing or getting a lighter C-rated tire at least.

    or a turbo :)

So the tires I currently have are 235/85r16 E range and are roughly 51lbs each before the rims. The tires I had before were the 265/70r16 Pathfinder A/Ts which were SL range and were 40lbs before rims. Pathfinder also makes them in 265/75r16 in SL range that are 41lbs each.

I assume you have a lift on the truck ? How does it perform with the 51# tires

It's worth noting that the 4 cyl 5 speed manual had a final drive of 4.10 in the 2nd gen, and 3.90 in the 3rd gen. From a gearing perspective (ignoring tire weight), a 3rd gen on stock 245/75/16s would be the same as a 2nd gen with 32.1 inch tires.

Don’t over analyze it there is not much of a difference. I run 285’s with a 2.7 auto and I have plenty of power. The trick with these motors is to wind them up. They were made to rev higher. Donte afraid to put your foot in it.
