So I will be forefront and flat out say I am NOT a mechanic... I do not even do my own brakes...rib me all ya want for it, just not my thing!

With that said, I ordered this kit , some rims and tires.

I plan to have this all put on at once, and get my alignment with all the new stuff. However, I do read now that I need to do the needle bearing at the same time to get away from any problems down the road.

That makes me wonder is there is anything else I am missing? I want to do this ONCE and be done! Not looking to keep going in and outta the shop...

So, if you were me, what else would you add to the list while the truck is in being lifted and having the needle bearing replaced? Or am I pretty good to go?

    Thanks all!

Make sure the brake cables have enough slack I have heard shops not doing this properly and people having issues .

This, you may need extended brake cables at a 3" lift, especially if you're gonna go offroad at all.

Otherwise...only other thing I could think of would be upgrading the leaf spring hangers, though again really depends if you're gonna offroad. If this is gonna be a pavement queen, no need.

Are you ordering these with the UCAs or without?

If you're ordering without please keep it mind you may not be able to get a 100% aligned truck because of the limitation from the stock UCAs. Usually the UCAs are only needed when lifting 3" or above but I figured I'd let you know now if you didn't already.

    More info needed.

Which perch setting? Any UCA? Size rims and offset? Size tires?

Fyi, you might be waiting awhile for the 6112s.

It says that Wheelers defaults to the maximum lift (perch) setting for the assembled struts. Given that OP has no experience I assumed he'd buy pre-assembled stuff.

    Yes sir!

    Pre-assembled and ready to go.

I got every option on their drop downs: UCA, standard leafs and 600lb coils. I also added the .375 spacer that was recommended for the kit for a level stance.

Rims will be 17in Helos with a 0 offset, I read the thread on here of guys going to 0 instead of -12 to eliminate rubbing. Tires? Still not sure but prolly Falken or KO2. Size I'm still on fence about. I'm running 265/70/17 dynapros right now and want something taller. Maybe 285/75/17?

Oh and I understand the bilsteins will take awhile to get here... it actually gives me a little time to get everything else rounded up and make this a one shot deal.

I dont know anything about All-pro UCA, but I do have JBA UCA. 17x8.5 0 offset 4.75bs. I will run 285/75/17 and found out that wont clear the JBA UCA. I'm ordering .75" bora wheel spacers to make it work. The .75" wheel spacers will equate to a -19 offset. 1 1/4" spacers will clear the UCA but likely cause rubbing problems. I have done CMC+pinch weld. I wish my wheels were -12 offset, i wouldn't need wheel spacers.

So be careful with your wheels selection and the offsets/backspacing on it, making sure it wont cause problems with tires clearing the UCA. JBA tends to more problematic than others.

Also consider doing CMC and pinch weld.

Heres the 285/75/17 thread if you haven't seen it.

All-pro UCAs are solid I wouldn't question the integrity or clearance, they've been around for quite some time now. The KO2s are known to run a tad smaller so if you get them in 285/70/17s they will likely be closer to a 32 instead of a 33

Great info! I will for sure read on this! I'm not sold on an offset just trying to decipher what I read.... maybe -12 is what I need?

I think you did a great job choosing the lift tbh and it's refreshing to have someone come in who has done their research and is just asking for pointers. The only thing I can help you with the is backspacing and offset stuff. I always ask buddies or the companies about that stuff.

    Thanks dude!

I've read my ass off about his truck... I can honestly say, I know more about (from what I've researched) this truck, than any other vehicle I have ever owned!

I can't belive a suspension like that does not come with UCA's that's nuts!

If your going to that extreme you have got to install arms PERIOD mine's lifted 2" in the front & could only get my caster with stock arms to 1.6° positive & it drove down the road like shit untill I installed Camburg arms what a difference that made now I have set caster to 4° you can keep it in your lane with one finger & return to center after a turn is perfect.

Use anybody's arms you'll be amazed

For another thrill stick 4:88 gears in it 5:29's dont gave enough teeth in contact with the ring gear (weak) WOW is all I can say

The company might assume you want a different brand, but yes still surprising.
