    I've done a few of the Texas Overland Routes with guys from Texas Overland, Expedition Portal and Overland Bound.

    Your best bet is to hit up the Facebook for Texas Overland or Overland Bound Texas to find groups to go with you and they'll guide you through.

    I am getting more curious about OV tune and VF tune. Looking to cure the early shifting and not have to drive around in S5 all the time. I am in Temple, anybody in the area do tunes or know who does? Thanks for the help.

    I don't do tunes but I have had OV Tune since the beginning. I have been happy with my experience. It is always evolving and with vf tuner there are endless possibilities for changes. I don't think you will be disappointed with it.

    I don’t have any experience with them but with uprev for nissans it’s basiclly you download the tune from the tuner and hook up your laptop to the ob2 port and go thru a sequence to upload it. It’s a fairly easy process just make sure virus protection is turned off you run the risk of bricking the truck ecm :anonymous:

    I have read about the potential to brick the ECM. I would prefer someone with experience perform the tune, i am not a computer guy if i can avoid it. Let me know if anybody has a central texas contact for a tune. Thanks again

    I was nervous my first time as with any computer upgrade, like rooting an android phone. As long as you follow the instructions, it is a simple process. What is your ECU id?

    I have 04B03 but am going to dealer with a few TSB's that i have symptoms for that all have the same newer ECU flash as the fix. Hopefully they will perform it for me

    Thanks for the offer. I was able to get the reflash done based on the the idle increase with steering input TSB but the same new ECU flash also addressed the surge at 45-50 as well as cleaned up the shifting. Seems much better, planning a trip next weekend to Huntsville state park so should get some miles on with full camping load. Thanks again
