Can you tell me where you get your OEM air from? I bought a new toyota air filter and I'm concerned that "regular air" might ruin it.

Just like any other true Toyota purist; directly from Toyota Japan in a hermetically sealed bag :burp:

Prerunner or 4x4 in the item description is what you want.

Also if you click on the “info” button it will give you OEM part numbers to cross reference.

To put this is perspective, Timmah's video says Toyota specs are 0.5mm movement (the crow bar video method). In decimals, that's .0197 inches. The crow bar video guy says his show 1/16" of play, and that's .0625 inches, which means 1/16" movement is 3 times larger than spec. End result is that if you see any type of movement with the crow bar method, then you're driving on borrowed time and new lbj's should be on your shopping list.

I'm currently shopping for my driver's side lbj. I was thinking of going to 555's, $65 at Low Range, but their website says they are on backorder. Just priced oem at camelback... $126.

Don't forget new bolts (x8) 90119-10933 and a tube of Blue with those new Toyota LBJs

Both need replacing eventually and neither one are difficult to change.

I did both at the same time.

I just bought some from RockAuto. The Moog Problem Solver brand comes as 555's. It says Moog on the box but the actual part is 555 brand. Ball joint and casting. I bought them last year and they have held up great, they definitely still had life in them when I removed them. As insurance I replace them yearly.

I just replaced my LBJs, outer tie rods, and sway bar links and had my truck aligned. I hadn't heard about the LBJ failure issues until reading these threads. I installed the O'Reilly MasterPro brand w/new bolts and torqued to spec. Did I just waste my money??? (I'm in a v6 PreRunner, mostly daily commuting).

    He is.

I had moogs on my daily driver/weekend warrier off roader for over 6 years, and my truck didn't explode.

Main thing is to just not install and ignore them for the next decade. OEM or otherwise: an ignored balljoint is a failed balljoint.
