Need a 6ft for my spring trip out west. I only will be using it for two weeks on my vacation so people don't steal my recovery gear and personal items. I am searching ebay now trying to find something cheap and easy to install.

If you're only using it for one trip I'd probably just make one from plywood :sawzall:

Have you seen the price of plywood lately? I can't even afford OSB. This trip is nickel and diming me.

Oh boy. Well I am not sure you can afford a tonneau cover then... You might be able to reclaim some material from a landfill or recycling center you could fab something out of?

Or buy a tonneau cover that people want, and try to sell it after the trip. There's a lot of hassle and risk to that as well. Unless you happen to have a friend who wants one. Lastly post some ads on every marketplace looking for one, maybe you can get lucky.

Then tape a bunch of flashlights to the roof for night off road use. Lol. Honestly i was hoping to get something under $200. I still need to pick up maxx traxx, build dog platform for access cab and add a light bar or pods.

I am guessing under 200 you should find on the used market. I've found them for a bit under 200 USD up here secondhand. Post some ads on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist or whatever is popular in your area. I'm sure you can find something and probably can sell it for as much as you buy it for if you get it secondhand.

I have been looking locally but nothing for 6ft bed. i ahoping to get one that clamps directly on the bed rail. The cheapies all seam like a beyatch to install. I have never owned one and was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction.

My experience with the used market is browsing postings rarely gets you what you want for a good deal. I always get better offers when I post a Wanted ad. I'm not sure how each install but I don't know if any of them would be that hard. Good luck on your search, you may have to compromise on something unfortunately if you want to keep your price point.

I can second the undercover brand. I had one and it’s no more than a 10 minute install to the rails

Those are sweet, not practical for me though. I just sold my 3500 flatbed so it looks like i will have to put my ladder racks back on

I got my tyger soft tri-fold for around $170 on Amazon. Works great and has held up well over a year now even with extreme temps and doesn’t allow much water to get in.

can you lock your tailgate? i have a bakflip G2 and it installs pretty easily into the bed rail system. there is no lock on the actual Tonneau cover, i had to get a tailgate lock to ensure that i would be able to secure the bed.

Zero tools required and takes less than 10 minutes, maybe 20 the first time if you’re going slow. I take mine off all the time when hauling bigger stuff.
