I think applying the sticker is hit or miss. If you felt it, they probably did it, it is noticeable. Otherwise, you could use an OBDII scanner and see the ECU info to confirm.

LoL! The 2016s / 2017s have the same freaking ECU IDs.

Although TSB-0092-20 does not apply for you. If you're an AT, you might want to hold off as I am pretty certain there will be a new / better TSB soon just like the MTs got.

Thanks Tony, I saw that a few pages/days ago.

Figured I'd go ahead and test to see if my dealer would run it as a few other '17s have had it/something applied that led to improved driving.

I have no problems waiting for one that applies to 2017 models...I did a 2x transmission pan drain and fill two weeks ago and it seems to have resolved some of the hyper downshifting at interstate speeds. The frequent shifting else where hasn't gone away, regardless of using ect or not

    You're welcome!

Every TSB tune has been an improvement and is worth the effort. The one that should be coming will be similar to the 2021 tune.

Hypothetically speaking, if I had the ECU flash and did not like it, could I ask them to reinstall the "old" tune? I'm guessing no bueno.

I was just coming in to ask the same thing. They said they did mine but my butt dyno can't tell and no sticker.

I haven't had a chance to investigate via the OBDII yet.

I could tell within a few blocks, and I didn’t have too much issue with how it drove before the update. Holds gears longer and is more responsive overall.

So I have a screenshot of this TSB and want to get it done (was hoping to get my fuel pump at the same time) but for future ones, how do you know they exist...where do you find these TSBs normally?

No. There's no rolling it back.

That said, I would be shocked if someone didn't like the update. They have all been a big, positive change for me.

Just had this done yesterday. 2019 SR 4x4. Drove 25 miles home and noticed the differences immediately. Shift likes in the ECT mode. Much smoother etc.

I've heard many comments that it drives like "ECT-lite". ECT revs the engine too much in my opinion so I'm determined to test drive a '21 before requesting the flash.

I have never driven a 3rd Gen AT. I think folks mean that there isn't the need to poke the ECT button for it to drive normal. Folks say the same thing about the OV Tunes.

But, that is a good plan to feel it out. My best guess is that the latest TSB Tunes is the same as the late production 2020s and the 2021s.

I have an identical model. It is an improvement in responsiveness. You can still lug around at low RPMs when you want, but when you do want to accelerate it is smoother without the rapid fire 1-4 shifting. It reduces the gear hunting to an extent when it shifts up too quickly, only to drop back down. Test drive one, but i am confident you will be happy with the revised tune. I wasn't upset with how the truck performed before, but it was an improvement.

I bought a ‘21 in December. The constant gear hunting and lurching between shifts was annoying. I got the OV Tune a few days ago and could tell a huge difference immediately. The throttle is more responsive and the gear shifts actually make sense. A much smoother ride than before.

What I didn't like before the "flash" was how hard I had to push on the gas to accelerate.

I did abut 100 mile round trip yesterday over 2 lane road with some steep hills and a bit of stop and go. Mileage out was 25.2 according to the dash and 22.7 home by a different route. Had a traffic jam on the home one due to Prime quitting time. Shifting was a huge improvement and pedal was never flat. Glad I had it done. Questions?
