Needle Bearing Failure With Lift (How Many)

Is this what your bearing looked like when you pulled your cv axle out? Or did you struggle in pulling the needle bearing out and end up breaking it apart to get it removed?

 

I agree on occasionally running 4wd to have all the parts moving, but guys that offroad vigorously have had the issue and I'm sure they're running 4wd alot I figure.. From what I've heard is that 2018 and up had an "upgraded" bearing? I could be wrong. It does say on the TSB Tacomas up to 2017. So who know honestly

 

Yeah with most things Tacoma seems to be a roll of the dice. Lol

 

I have lifted a few Tacomas without vibes or needle bearing issues... But on my new 2021 I ordered the ECGS bushing to install with the lift just as a peace of mind kind of thing... Will also install the front diff drop and sway bar drop/relocation as well... Better safe than sorry...

 

You recommend the diff drop?

 

Cheap easy peace of mind, will help keep CV angles in check and help prevent wear and tear.

Came out of nowhere? Do you not realize the conversation is regarding needle bearing failure? Do you not realize that wear and failure is part and parcel of needle bearings? Don't get attitude with me because you are the one who does not know what you are talking about. Anyone with half a damn brain knows that all moving parts are subject to failure at some point. Especially involving vehicles used off road and subject to much harsher conditions than built for. A quick Google search is all it takes for you to understand the basics. Now please explain to me how bearings are not subject to failure...

It was the way you worded it. You said "All bearings fail eventually."

I count thousands of usable bearings in this yard alone. So not ALL bearings fail eventually. Am I right??

 

'Eventually' being the keyword. If those vehicles did not fail from something else first they would eventually see some sort of bearing failure. Obviously there are very many factors that dictate a bearings lifespan. Reading comprehension is important!
