damn. quarantine time is weird. lolol.

Yeah, I remember waking up and thinking, "should we even go? eh...let's go check it out". turned out to be the best loamy conditions we had ever seen here in the wasatch.

    Hey All!

Looking to make my first trip to Moab this weekend for hiking and off-roading in the Tacoma. I’ve done some research and looks like I should stick with trails rated 2 and 3 on https://www.rr4w.com/ratings.cfm.

Anyone have trail suggestions for someone that doesn’t want to beat up their stock 20’ TRD off-road long bed? I have frame mounted rock sliders, will be leaving my tow hitch in and have the TRD skid plate (exhaust and trans doesn’t have a skid) and the stock 265/70/16 tires. Considering putting on some 265/75/16 or 255/85/16 tires before the trip

There’s a million things to see and do in Moab. You really can’t go wrong no matter what you do.

If your goal is to wheel all weekend, look at this site, the guy lists many of the trails and their ratings (1-5, instead of 1-10, but same idea). onion creek, fins and things, are fun and easyish. Last time we went, wife and I drove up Potash Road, incredible views, steep and narrow but easy. The wife loved it so much she literally teared up at one point.
    https://www.jeeptheusa.com/moab-jeep-trails.html

If you’re hiking too, my vote is the shafer trail to Canyonlands in the afternoon to catch sunset from the rim, hike in Arches, delicate arch trail is super cool, double arch, etc. And pick one other medium 4x road to do.

One weekend in Moab will just leave you wanting more. Have fun.

Onion Creek is a pretty tame but fun drive.

What kind of tires are you (possibly) taking off? I'm looking for a used BFG K02 in 265/70/16. Help a brother out?

    Thanks guys for the info!

Won’t be wheeling all weekend in Moab, looking to do 1-2 easy trails, easy meaning more than a maintained dirt road but not looking for any large obstacles where a stock Tacoma would need to be spotted through. Simply looking to get off the pavement and experience Moab!

I won’t have a spotter (gf will be with me but wouldn’t call her a spotter lol) and my truck is stock other than TRD front skid and frame rock sliders. From my research Shafer, Gemini and onion creek may be what I’m looking for, fins and things may be a tad more than what I’m looking to do this weekend

I admit I am too lazy to do the research right now. I am in the middle of oil change, tire rotation, filter cleaning, lubeing nipples :p and general maintenance. I need to do some touch up on my sliders. A few scratches and some surface rust. Nothing Major.
I have powder coated Relenless Fab sliders and they could use some luv. What do you recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

I just use rustoleum bed liner. Honestly, anything good. After every winter, I seem to always have to touch up some spots. I wire brush/sand the rust...get some rest preventor on there and then spray the bedliner on there. it's mostly just spot checks here and there but you wouldn't be able to tell where the fixes were with the bedliner applied. :D

I just said spray paint, I don’t know what finish your sliders have on them.

Gloss black, textured black, ya know

Yeah, Kurt's a good dude. I think we've known each other for probably 20 years now (damn, it's been a long time...I'm just getting old:rofl:) since the early days of ARCA, RCAA, and UROC and the Jeep SLC/U4WDA group. We're also some of the original members of the local forum RME, which has been around for a little over 20 years now I think.
