Hey yosh, what's the deal with the Morimoto minis? Do you think they are any decent? I'm still tight with money and need to upgrade my stockers! I was going to go FX-R, but like I have said before, lack of tools and time.

matt is awesome. i got some of the morimoto d2s lights installed. not bad at all. for the price and ease of the install, you can't go wrong. kits will never be as good as a real retro

So I'm back from training at beautiful Ft. Lewis and my DDM's are still f'd up. It's normally when the humidity is high or raining. They both flicker for about 20-50 cycles of my on/off switch until the right one fires and stays. Then the left one takes another 20-30 cycles before firing. Once on, they both work great. Does anyone have any suggestions? These are new ballast that DDM sent me for warranty (minus the $15 admin fee and shipping). My problem wasn't fixed and I'm back at square one. I bought the harness per someone at DDM's recommendation and then I was told by someone else to take it off because I have the Hi/Lo kit and it has the harness included. I've checked every ground and connection a million times??? HELPPPPP!!!!!

i would say ditch the ballast before you waste more money on them and replace them with something else. or..... ditch the whole kit and get something that is actually reliable, which this one is clearly not

    ^^^^^^^What he said.........

How effective is it switching to the "brights"? Is there a delay for warmup? How much brighter would you need than 35w regular low beam HIDs to not blind people, melt signs and not get tickets? I know this doesn't help the current situation but considering this beforehand coulda saved some money and headaches. IMO, 55w is for offroad lighting and 55w lo/hi kits for road use are just begging for trouble of some sort. Good luck with it tho.....

Just got around to installing my kit from DDM this afternoon, hooked everything up and tested them out before tieing things down, everything worked fine. I was pleased. Then, several hours later, we all piled in the truck to go to a christmas party and.....only the passenger side fired, flipped the switch three or four times, nothing changed. After reading this thread..I'm pretty pissed off, hoping I dont have to be put through the ringer dealing with a crap company and components. Hopefully things will work out tomorrow, gonna check all the connections and go from there. It worries me that thee lights worked initially but dont now

For those of you who are having trouble with the ddm ballast, are they the slim ballast by any chance?

general concensus seems to be the slims go out extremely frequently compared to the standard ones. the slims are really designed more for motorcycle or car applications where you have less room to mount them. there isn't much of a need for them in or trucks.
