    image.jpg image.jpg I’m too cheap to buy a $180 pistol bit auger, so I made a drill adapter for a hand auger. I’m starting to figure out that hex collet block I think.

    Thanks! I made the mistake of thinking the 1/2” hex would fit in the Chuck of a 1/2” drill. Now it’s back in the hex block for a little trim :anonymous:

    Turn it down to 1/2" and just cut 3 flats 120 degrees apart :D

    That would have been a great idea. I just took .030” off each side so I could practice re setting the block to match what I had. She fits now!image.jpg

    What does the rest of that collet holder look like? I've never seen one quite like that with a hex.

    Usually commercial toilet paper is made that way so the building sewer systems can handle it. Maybe not an issue on a single story machine shop, etc but in a multi-story building, if everyone was rocking Charmin plus, your plumber's union would be rolling in dough.

    That’s nice, this is the only one I’ve used, it uses 5C collets. It has a quick change piece for short pieces or a nut for longer pieces.
