Hopefully those work for you. My local Mac dealer doesn’t keep those in stock. Makes sense I guess, everything here is automotive or aviation. Even getting the tools by themselves doesn’t look good.

To be honest, if the Mac tools are hard to come by then I wouldn’t want them anyways. You pay a premium for tool truck tools not only for the “come to your work” service but also easily exchanging broken tools. Can’t swap a broken tool if they never have it.

If it were me and you needed something stronger than what Amazon has, I’d suggest a snap on screwdriver. My snap on guy has always been great about swapping out my flat tip screw drivers that have been bent from prying. I don’t do that anymore though since I’m not working as a mechanic anymore. I take much better care of my tools now. Haha.

I didn’t have them in 4x4 mode, that was the issue.

    I wish I had a 10lb brass hammer.

    I tried that too.

I’ve never had that much of a is taking the cv off the end of a shaft that is what the video is correct , I usually take a very large cresent wrench adjust slightly larger that the axle shaft lock the shaft in a vise at a downward angle giving enough room to swing a hammer at it usually comes lose in 3-4 blows of the hammer striking the cresent wrench not the axle . But there always that problem one that gives us fits on any job I suppose.

Talking to anyone that has had to separate the tacoma outer axle joint (usually to put long travel shafts in), they all agree it’s a huge pain in the ass. One friend cut the shaft and disassembled it and took it to a shop to press out. It took 80 tons of force.

If you don’t get the spring clip to center ( wet with blaster and kinda working the axle in and out a bit) you have to fight and shear the spring steel of the clip, MUCH tougher. I’ve done a dozen of them this way, the first one or 2 were the the worst, the rest were easy like pie once I had the technique down.
My work bench was a fish gutting table in a former life, it has the hole and pipe built it, drop and go. Longer axle is easier because of the added weight of length.

IT SUCKS SO BAD!!! I hate it. I have nightmares because of it. When I was rebuilding mine for LT, I had to cut mine as well, take it to a shop and it took all of a 100 ton press to get the end of the axle shaft out of the star piece and chipped the dudes tooling.

I can get the long side with the pipe and dropping the birf into the pipe. The short side last time I couldn’t get off but called rcv and they said use a brass drift on the cage with the birf at max angle. Sure enough. Couple hood hits and it came right off

Tip bent a little on the first use, not surprising being aluminum, but I was bending a metal bracket with it so not unexpected.

Still should suffice plenty for my needs. Would recommend. 3 pack was $9.
