Does anyone have pictures of their Magnetic Grey Metallic trucks with a tan Softopper? I'm trying to decide what to buy. I know black will look good but I've always loved the way the tan ones look, I'm just not sure how it matches up on an MGM 3rd gen. I had a black one on my red first gen and I absolutely loved it. Any help is appreciated. Pic is of my old truck.

My sons taco is cement and his soft topper is black and his truck looks pretty sweet. Looks so nice I’ve been thinking of buying one and switching out my bed cover in the winter with the soft topper.

I think tan would look great on MGM. I really wanted tan or gray, but I didn't think it worked with my color.

I chose tan over black because I use my topper as a bed tent for camping, I didnt want the added heat from the black. Plus I think tan looks better :)

Looks great! So do the wheels. Nice work there.

BTW, just incase anyone is a serial killer debadger, the logos on the ST wipe off with acetone. Be careful and hit the tags with protectant when done.

A workaround the heat is to install insulation sheets under the topper. I did it on mine and worked great. We camp and sleep on the bed in summer .

I have seen a couple pictures of tan on red and I thought it looked really great. I had someone talk me out of going with the tan on my old truck but I think there's a reason I keep getting drawn to tan.

I never thought to do that. I always just put the screen window on the back and suffered haha. I may have to try that when I get the new one.

I was torn and just played it safe. I hear you about the pull of tan. I wish there was a QS Taco in my config available when I was looking.

Same about playing it safe last time. I've seen a picture or two of a tan ST on a QS truck and it looked sharp, but at the same time I'd probably go with black if I had a tan truck ha. I would probably get sick of all that tan all the time.

I think gray would really work with QS.

In the end, the ST keeps giving back. I was taking my tonneau off in the summers since dry storage wasn't a problem, but I ended up slapping the ST back on.

True that. I used to run a tonneau in the winter and the ST the rest of the year for camping and transporting music gear. Last winter I decided to keep the ST on and the road chemicals faded the canvas a bit and fogged up the vinyl windows. I drive 100 highway miles a day for work. Other than that it held up just fine though. I think in the future I'll only keep it up when it's not snowing or if I take a winter camping trip.

I've been hitting it twice a year with 303 Protectant and tossing some vinyl polish on the rear window after cleaning. It has done well, but the temp extremes aren't so bad here. I grew up in PA.

The rear window was doing friggin' great until a gas station dood in Oregon friggin' squeegeed it. Fuck!

That's some good advise. I'll definitely keep that in mind for the next time. Damn, that sucks about the squeegee! Scratch city. Some guys rock the solid panels in the winter, but the last thing I need is more material laying around when I'm not using it. Plus I like having some visibility, especially when the backup cam gets road crud on it.

    You're welcome!

Yeah. I think it was @Rock Lobster that polished up his scratched window? I'm going to give that a shot. If I hose it up, the dark tinted one will be coming my way. Ha!

I don't think it could roll with a solid panel. I didn't have problem the times that I borrowed an RV, but I like to see back there.

Awww man that's brutal. My window will get dirty and random people wanna fuckin draw on it like they're 3 years old

Or people leaning on my truck while they have meetings. Setting off the alarm brings me so much joy.
