It's probably only taco owners who give so much attention to minutiae on our trucks. But boy oh boy do our trucks look nice for all that babying.

Most all powdercoat on steel eventually comes off, then you touch it up with black spray paint, anyhow. Paint is cheap and can last just as long if not abused.

PC is a lot stronger than paint. It will eventually come off but if done well not for a long time unless like a big ass rock hits it or something

One of the issues is lot of fabricators don't prep the metal then send it to the powdercoater, which is expensive in itself.

Installed a few things in 15 minutes that came from parts.conicellitoyotaofspringfield.com/ today:

First up, switched radio dials for Rav4 dials. $12.76 each ($12.59 today?). Link to part 90010-23059.

Then the rail for the front of bed. Link to rail part PT278-35100-BH $31.51 ($32.61 today) Link for end caps 66134-04010 $9.79 ($9.55 today). Paid $51.09 total

Added a tie down d-ring to the bed for full size spare storage. Easy, simple and cheap. My favorite kind of mod.

I actually ended up buying a whole set of Swirly Pool Balls on eBay and having them delivered to Pool Ball Pete. In exchange for keeping the others to sell later, he treaded several of them for my daughter and me. The #5 Inferno was the prize though

Also-- Anyone else have to air out their Bubba Rope when they bought theirs? Such a strong like paint thinner like smell.

I just laid it out to breathe---

Is there any reason you prefer not to keep it under the bed in the stock location or does it not fit? I only ask because my Wildpeaks are 32s and fit no problem.

Got my strobe module in prep for my stealth emergency light install. This module will be wired into each of the turn signal bulbs, then the new meso mirror signals (the dual color ones) to give me a hidden plug and play strobe system. On and off will be controlled by a overhead switch that says "push to turn something on", then flash modes I will end up controlling with a momentary switch that matches the OEM switches.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
That will look cool but I think you will need to implement diodes so that the voltage does not feed back into the ECU.

It does fit under the bed, I had to bend the tabs back with a BFH, these are 33s, but I really prefer it under the tonneau nice and secure. A buddy of mine actually had his shitty steel spare stolen right in his driveway from under his bed, lol. Granted I live in a better neighborhood but still.
It's also much easier to get to if I need it. I've witnessed a situation where dude could not get the spare out from under the bed due to the way the bed was positioned after he got a flat. He had to drive it for a bit on the flat to be able to drop the spare.
I actually have my roof rack set up for it as well, so I have 3 areas I can store it depending on my needs. If I need the bed, it goes on the rack. If I need the bed and the rack, it goes underneath. I like options.

Yep, I got @Puppypunter building me some plug and play harnesses that I can put inline with the factory harness. Then I just plug in my strobe module to those harnesses and we are good to go.

Installed the truxedo X15 Pro yesterday and was going to do the led headlight bulbs but it turns out it has the OEM leds in there. I had ordered them the day I bought the truck but it hadn’t been delivered yet. So that’s a huge plus for me. Picked it up today from the tint shop this AM, now it’s 5% all the way around and a 50% entire front windshield. Super happy with the results
