That's a good question. I used them on my Ram which didn't have all the nanny nonsense. It came with an open front and a Track Lock rear. Anti lock rear brakes only. I have wondered how a front one might function with Crawl Control too. In some vehicles, I think traction control is disabled in 4WD. I think my wife's JK has a button to turn it off IIRC.
I don't know to a certainty, but I think part of the Crawl Control is actuating the brakes as part of it's function. That braking action could be set up, in a factory offered front TT to actuate the locking feature of it. Thinking it through, if that could be done, Toyota could use TTs front and rear and crawl control would, or even other modes could actuate the brakes to lock the diff or lock/unlock as conditions required. I would be happy to have it as a CC feature, but be able to use it manually in 4Lo/4Hi/2WD. Too much electronic control creates its own set of problems, takes some of the fun out of it, and diminishes driving skills.
One thing I really liked about the Truetrack, was wet weather control. The Ram had a lot of torque and a light bed. The old Track Lock liked to help bring the back around in the rain. The Truetrack was more forgiving and less prone to surprise me.

My wife's JK is a creampuff, no off road use to speak of. We are looking at several places to retire to that have some snow. When that happens, there may be some Truetracks in her future.

I'd have them make a Tacoma about the same size as the 1st GENs. Tacoma's have really crept up in size over the years. I like the smaller/nimble turn on a dime driving experience of the smaller Tacoma.

DCLB Pro MT. But I’d settle for a manual 4wd shifter like my 14 4Runner had, I hate the knob. I just like shifters. I think it’s a piece of mind thing.

Meaning I want a higher trim level. I guess the technically correct answer is "My trim level."

When you kill the engine with the push button start it also kills the radio. The wife's SUV the radio stays on until you open the drivers door.
I wish the Tacoma's would do that. I listen to talk radio on the way to work in the morning. And it never fails. I pull into work and they're about to say or tell something interesting and....off goes the radio when I kill the engine. Now I could leave the engine running. Or I could hit the accessory.
    But no.
I don't like wasting gas. And I'm not going to sit there for the minute it takes for the system to reboot.

I don't understand that either as the Sport and OR are the higher trim level and are only around $1900 more than an equally configured SR5.

I'm confused as to why this is so confusing. I wish my trim level were higher. I knew I wanted a Tacoma but didn't do enough research on the differences in the trim levels. Now that I know the differences I wish I would have bought a Sport or OR.

You can set the parking brake, shift into neutral, shut the engine off, shift into park, and the radio will stay on.

I'm gonna break the spirit of things and change 2 things, I'd go diesel and get rid of our POS transmission.

I understand. Not sure how I read that but I thought you meant across the entire Tacoma lineup you wish they had more features. The SR5 is arguably the second cheapest model, the SR being the cheapest.

Yes, or to rather put more blame on myself (where it is due) I should have done more research and purchased a higher trim level.

Right, it was confusing to me as it would not make any sense to have an uplevel SR5 as the price would probably equal the Sport and Off Road and still be short equipment.

I thought he meant in general he wishes Toyota made a more optioned truck, which since he has the second cheapest (I do too, it’s okay) I didn’t understand the complaint. Now I get it though, all cleared up, haha.

It's what happens when you combine being cheap with wanting the truck you've wanted since 2003 (which, at the time, was an SR5). If I had only spent an extra 30 minutes researching the differences I wouldn't be in the position I am in.

What made you switch from a sports car to a truck? I have always been into air cooled VW’s and Porches, the newer ones are obviously much more powerful, but I still like the old boxers.

These trucks have pretty damn good resale, you might be able to move up a Trim Level for not too much difference.

My dad just sold his 67 about a month ago. I would have bought it, but unlike tools, I cannot hide a project car in a toolbox from my wife.....

Practicality. My Boxster was fun, but I hated it as an everyday driver with a family. My Macan S was a blast, but it is tiny. My son could barely fit in the back. It's about the size of a Q3. The base Macan is a joke. I hated it. The Cayenne was much larger, but I still couldn't fit much in it. The truck fits all of my needs.
